Obama: 5 votes
Romney: 5 votes
Only ten votes. There were 21 in 2008 (15 for Obama; 6 for McCain.) Feel the excitement over these choices.

Would be awesome if there was a ron paul write in.

Ron Paul easily could have took this and yet he didn't get one vote. The one party system got all 10 votes cast there.

Only if you use fuzzy math. There had to be at least 10 voters for the results shown. Write-ins might not have been counted there.

You were saying GJ got one vote?Yes, there is a report that GJ got 1/23 votes in Hart's Location tonight; most outlets are NOT reporting it. However all of the reports I've read about Dixville Notch only talk about a tie, and don't mention how many votes were actually cast.

1:03AM EST November 6. 2012 - Maybe this will be a close election: President Obama and Mitt Romney tied in Dixville Notch, one of two tiny New Hampshire villages that get to cast the first votes of the presidential election on Election Day.
Each candidate received five votes -- the first tie in Dixville Notch history. In 2004, Obama received 15 of the 21 votes cast.
In Hart's Location, the other New Hampshire town that enjoys first-vote status, Obama won with 23 votes, Romney received 9 and Libertarian Gary Johnson received 1 vote. In 2004, Obama received 17 of the 29 votes cast.
The towns have proudly held their first-vote status since 1948.

Notice that article doesn't say how many votes were cast in either location, but especially Dixville Notch. The way it is worded is very suspicious to me, especially coming from the media who is known to lie and cheat to push their agenda.

I used to produce news, the majority of news outlets in the country, simple repeat what is sent to them from the wire services.

I doubt they use anything but hand ballots up there. So voter turnout really low. It would be interesting to find out if the other 11 voters stayed home as a Ron Paul protest vote. NH allows write-ins. wonder how many Vermine supreme will get this election.

From what I heard, the population of the town declined these past 4 years, perhaps explaining the drop in votes. I for one can't imagine anyone staying home when they have two choices as great as these.;)
