Police arrested two men on Sunday for their involvement in alleged gas hoarding in Connecticut.

Police say Yunus Latif, 47, of Richmond Hill, Queens, filled 30 five-gallon plastic tubs with four gallons of gas each at a station in Orange, Conn., with the intention of bringing it back to neighbors in New York.

Fuel shortage expected to last for days, Cuomo says

A witness told police they saw Latif loading up plastic containers filled with gas into his truck. When police arrived, they discovered the tubs with gas loaded in the back of the truck. The plastic lids were expanding, police say.

Gas can only be transported in Department of Transportation-approved containers.

Police also arrested the attendant at the gas station, 41-year-old Muniruzzaman Gomosta, who sold the gas to Latif but said he did not realize he was buying so much gas because the store was busy.

They were both issued misdemeanor summonses for violation of regulation concerning flammable or combustible liquids

NBCConnecticut.com reported that Latif and Gomosta are expected to appear in court on November 19.

Don't have a government approved container? Who cares if your family and neighbors are starving and freezing to death without power, in the slammer you go scum.

Reminds me of the Nuns who ran out of gasoline and walked down to the filling station. The attendant could only find an old bed pan and filled it for them to take back to their car. While the Nuns were carefully pouring the gasoline into their fuel tank, a priest and a protestant minister on their way to a meeting drove by. The priest looked over to the minister and said, "Don't you wish your people had faith like that?"

Price gouging prevents hoading in a free market or you can make both illegal and arrest people and throw them in jail. That's a different kind of market.

Policy was followed.

"Did you know that if you mix equal parts of gasoline and frozen orange juice concentrate you can make napalm?"
"No, I did not know that, is that true?"
"That's right... One could make all kinds of explosives, using simple household items."
"Really...?"
"If one were so inclined."

Well, that's one way to recycle the stuff.

"Did you know that if you mix equal parts of gasoline and frozen orange juice concentrate you can make napalm?"

How is gas floating on orange juice better than gas floating on plain water?

Folks, don't try either of these at home. Or at the gas station, either. Especially not if the gas station is near me.

If the gas isn't diluted with orange juice too much, it might burn.

You don't dilute gas with orange juice. Vodka, yes. Orange juice, no.

Gas and egg whites for napalm.

I hope you're not implying that I thought that. I wasn't the one that mentioned gasoline and orange juice to begin with (which I had never heard of before).

Gas and egg whites for napalm.
From what I remember from Vietnam, it used to be Vaseline and gasoline..., it was just a little more than enough gasoline to keep the Vaseline burning. The Vaseline is what kept it sticking to everything it touched.

I've heard of gasoline and styrofoam (which I think is why a previous post mentioned they like their gas a styrofoam cup). I doubt it's real napalm, though.

I think your are correct.... they also used some other thickening agents. Hence the palm... some sort of palmitic acids.

Dumped it of course. That's government's reaction to everything: destruction, chaos. All that, and more.
