Geez, I wonder how long ago they wrote that?! They've probably had it written for months in the hopes something would happen so they could print it.

It's a good thing natural disasters never happened before government was here to save us.

This.

FEMA was created for CoG, nothing more.

And it's purpose today is CoG, nothing more.

FEMA didn't show up in Joplin until a week after the tornado. Apparently, the Heartland just doesn't rate up in Washington. Once it showed up, the flow of information ceased, making it difficult or impossible for people to find their loved ones. The flow of voluntary assistance was largely curtailed, turned back at the city limits. And the lies started.

Giving the community, and the surrounding communities, a week of unfettered access to help people before they showed up and locked everything down was the best thing FEMA did during the whole episode. The people of Joplin would have been better off if they had waited a month.

A big storm requires a community. In some ways, the whole of the Great Plains is a community. And we need big government like a fish needs a bicycle.

Mommy government vomit from the Ministry of Truth. (And in essence just a pre-planned, final-hour attack on Mitt Romney, who would never dream of eliminating FEMA).

Many don’t like the idea of free aid for poor people,

Lol! "Poor people"??? Yeah, right. This will probably turn out to be the most profitable event on Wall St since TARP. Free government money for billionaires! "Oh no, the deck at my beach house in the Hamptons blew away, the government should give me a million dollars to fix it!"
