What's the difference between Jill Stein (Green Party) and Rocky Anderson (Justice Party)? Their platforms seem so similar. Why would they want to split their votes? That's the only problem I have with some 3rd parties, a lot of them are so similar to each other.

It's on here. Christina I love, but they need a producer. Her opening statement was far too long and preachy.

Watching this makes me sad. Any of these people would give me more hope than the 2 frontrunners.

Johnson should have been as animated in the GOP debate.

do you remember the moment when all the pieces of liberty came to you?
I do- i have been a libertarian as long as i've been politicaly active, but it wasn't until i listened and studied what Ron was talking about that the pieces came together and really made sense. I get this sense that maybe Ron had such an impact on Gary. i couldn't prove that... but it just seems that way.
he has never been this clear in his message.

I encourage everyone here to vote Gary Johnson both in the debate poll and in the general. It would be nice to see him debate 1-on-1 as the 4 person debate had to spread things pretty thin though it was still good. I have to say, Gary really brought his A-game tonight. I usually think of him as a mild mannered person (not that I have a problem with that - I am as well) but he was very intense and spoke with clarity and force in the debate tonight, so props to him

That was the best debate that I've seen this primary and election season. Even though Ron Paul wasn't there. These people were expressing genuine opinions rather than the fake empty-suit 2-party frauds. I really enjoyed it. Even when socialist Jill Stein blabbered on I wasn't near as pissed off as when a Santorum or Romney spewed their authoritarian bs during the primaries.

That's what they usually do. Try tuning in again at midnight.

Normally they would have call in lines about it, but both Obama and Bush each had 2 rallies today so we get stuck with stale talking points again :( Wash Journal tomm should be interesting.

Just had a blast listening to this tonight! I made the terrible life decision to listen to last night's foreign policy debate. Tonight was the first time I've felt good about politics since Minnesota's speech at the RNC. Great to hear a variety of viewpoints even when I disagreed. Rocky came across as a very articulate speaker even though I disagreed with a few of his ideas. But overall, Gary Johnson, take a bow son. Thought he was absolutely in the zone tonight giving clear and intense answers. His response to free college education was right on the money and was my favorite segment of the debate.

virgil goode seemed like a snob this debate. Some questions he did not answer other then I would not of signed it. On the other hand Gary Johnson nailed it tonight. Johnson talked about schools fighting to get you witch would make them cheaper. Stopping the government from making it so easy for kids to get loans that can not afford to pay them back. Bring troops home now and how he is a huge fan of Ron Paul. Gary Johnson should get all are votes after what he just heard from him. Gary Johnson is the best man running for office.

Yeah Virgil Goode didn't do himself any favors although I consider him second best on the stage behind Johnson.

That's strange, I've been thinking the same thing about Obama and Romney. ;)

Anyway, opening was way too long and preachy as previously said, and then the candidates started out sounding overly preachy, and it looked like Johnson was the first one who put some substance into his answers instead of just bashing the main two parties. Things picked up after that.

I didn't realize Jill Stein is such a communist.

The Green Party tends to be very socialist. I wasn't sure who was worse between the 2. The Constitution Party guy seemed like a very socially conservative and perhaps bigoted paleo-con. I found myself disagreeing with him a bunch.

Even though he's a drug warrior? :(Yeah and his policy of putting a moratorium on immigration is just as bad. Nevertheless he's fiscally conservative unlike the other 2. It's a tough judgement to make. He wants to control what we put in our bodies and keep foreigners out but he wants to end unconstitutional wars and opposes NDAA. Really Virgil Goode just sucks. He reminds me of white separatists like David Duke. But Stein and Anderson are only slightly worse.

I watched it last night. Gary Johnson won it hands down, no question. He was the only one who acted like a serious candidate and not somebody looking for a little publicity to push their agenda. That said I actually like Jill Stein a lot on civil liberties but obviously hated her on all the socialist stuff.

Yeah pretty much. It's probably not a fair comparison.

Didn't he also say he wanted to stop foreign cars from being shipped into the US until the unemployment rates goes down to 5%? A lot of Hondas, Toyotas and so on are assembled in the US. However, some US company cars are assembled in Mexico and China. Under his leadership, it would such to be Government Motors. Maybe it would cause the company to go bankrupt? Oh wait...

I caught half of the debate last night, and just watched the entire thing again. It was so refreshing to hear discussion on actual issues, without the constant attacking of the other candidates. Dr. Paul was always that lone voice of reason amongst a panel of childish jackasses. Tonight, even though I may not have agreed with all of the candidates, it was four voices of reason and zero jackasses.

I had already planned on voting for Johnson, since a write in for Ron wouldn't be counted in my state, but I definitely wasn't enthusiastic about it. After watching the debate I felt a small tinge of excitement and hope for the movement. He really was on his A-game! Gary isn't Ron by any stretch, but he has my full support. In the very least, I hope he garners enough percentage of the national vote to allow the Libertarian party into the debates next election.

WesSeid

Yeah pretty much. It's probably not a fair comparison.

Just wondered, since Ron Paul is for tight border control too. That may not be the same as "anti-immigration," but it's still a long way from an open-border policy -- which is my main beef with Gary Johnson btw. The EU has tried an open-border policy, and now the richer countries are feeling the effects as poor people from poor countries migrate to the richer countries and get on welfare rolls and take more than they give, refuse to assimilate into the culture, etc.
