Anybody else find it ironic the debate of these two clowns is coming to us from a place called "Rat's Mouth?" As I recall, Boca Raton is Spanish for rat's mouth.

So in a sense, we are getting this directly from the rat's mouth.

This is going to be difficult to watch. All the pundits are talking as if Romney and Obama represent a stark philosophical difference, of American exceptionalism versus non intervention. Or at least Fox News is. As if Obama is some kind of isolationist.

I'd really like to hear two things. I'd like to hear Romney explain how he intends to 'encourage' Pakistan to 'improve their relationship' with us. And I'd like to hear Obama explain how it was logical to 'transition from two wars to peace' via Libya, Somalia and Yemen.

Judging by the slight move on intrade from the start to end of the debate, it looks like obaba "won" the debate.

Since the whole idea has been that anyone would be better than Obama, his holding his own is a win for him.

Romney has failed to make a case for changing horses.

Barring an event that moves the needle, Obama will win re-election.

Exactly why I don't watch these things anymore. I didn't watch it, but I know what they said. Why fill your head with more of their lies? Unless you like to spend your energy letting your hate grow. If that is the case, in this context, I say let it grow!

The people who support this horror show are as bad as the German people who turned a blind eye to Hitler. Pride goeth before the fall, and I have no freakin pity for these petty monsters who vote for them, or the major monsters they vote for. I am past the tolerance of ignorance into full-blown contempt for anybody that is even capable of not actively opposing this nightmare. :weep:

Our only hope at this point is for America to collapse economically quickly enough before one of these monsters can go on a murder spree destroying 5 more countries and drawing Russia and China into a world war. God help us if the dollar holds out long enough for one of these psychopaths to push the button on Syria and Iran. I don't thing the American people have contemplated what war with Russia and China would really mean. :weep:

Seconded. Tonite was the first time I truly had a "contemptuous" feeling toward people that play into this garbage. It was mostly entertaining and saddening before but I genuinely felt angry for the direction this country is going, all with the stamp of approval of most of the population.

Actually Gunny wasn't too far off. The German people had reported more Jews/dissidents to the Gestapo than the Gestapo were able to uncover themselves through their warrantless searches and seizures.

How I saw the Presidential Foreign Policy debate tonight…

Both candidates are being overly optimistic about the US role in the "New Silk Road". Fact Afghanistan has signed an agreement with India to take over training security forces, once the US pulls out in 2014.

The US thinks since India is going to be in there, we could still have influence, seemingly to ignore the fact China is already vying for a stronger position in the region. Pakistan is enjoying its new dialogue with Russia, and will do nothing to jeopardize its bid for full membership with the SCO.

China and Russia have already sewn up ties with nearly every nation in the region, even going as far as courting Iraq into the SCO. With China and Russia working diligently through the SCO and BRIC nations, economic deals have been made without bombs.

As continually stated Syria, is the “Red Line in the Sand” for Russia and China, they aren’t about to let another Libya debacle take place. Meanwhile the Democratic and Republican candidates seem to have to appease the ignorant masses, that regime change in Syria and Iran are strategic in the battle against human rights, Democracy, and National Security.

On the US biggest threat to National Security “The FED”, the two-party system candidates seem to think that if we use China as a scapegoat for our woes and accuse them of currency manipulation, the American people won’t question the trillions in currency manipulation that has been lent out by the FED to foreign banks.

It is unfortunate that both candidates must pander to their base and reach out to the center by speaking about nonsensical solutions.

The “Tao of presidential politics” is telling them how you’ll fix things in 8-to-10-to-20 years, not what they could be capable of fixing within their own term. Obviously too much money can be made for corrupt government and corrupt businesses, by simply kicking the can down the road, at the detriment of future generations.

If they would simply address the real concerns of debt upon our nation, more “Average Joes” would understand that it’s not the Islamic-boogeyman or the Capitalist-bogeyman that’s going to bring down our country, it’s the insistence of not drastically taking measures to reduce the debt that burdens our nation and its security.

Lastly, as any self-actualized household in America knows… If you’re drowning in debt, you reduce your spending, pay off your debts, and build from ZERO. Instead, I heard two candidates talking about doubling down on a bet, which the United States can no longer afford to risk.

Gunny is exactly right.

The German people embraced the horror and wholeheartedly supported it.

Contrary to popular belief, the Gestapo was not the all-pervasive, omnipotent agency in German society.[31] In Germany proper, many towns and cities had fewer than 50 official Gestapo personnel. For example, in 1939 Stettin and Frankfurt am Main only had a total of 41 Gestapo men combined.[31] In Düsseldorf, the local Gestapo office of only 281 men were responsible for the entire Lower Rhine region, which comprised 4 million people.[32] "V-men", as undercover Gestapo agents were known, were used to infiltrate Social Democratic and Communist opposition groups, but this was more the exception, not the rule.[33] The Gestapo office in Saarbrücken had 50 full-term informers in 1939.[33] The District Office in Nuremberg, which had the responsibility for all of northern Bavaria, employed a total of 80–100 full-term informers between 1943 and 1945.[33] The vast majority of Gestapo informers were not full-term informers working undercover, but were rather ordinary citizens who for whatever reason chose to denounce those they knew to the Gestapo.[34]

According to Canadian historian Robert Gellately's analysis of the local offices established, the Gestapo was—for the most part—made up of bureaucrats and clerical workers who depended upon denunciations by citizens for their information.[35] Gellately argued that it was because of the widespread willingness of Germans to inform on each other to the Gestapo that Germany between 1933 and 1945 was a prime example of panopticism.[36] Indeed, the Gestapo—at times—was overwhelmed with denunciations and most of its time was spent sorting out the credible from the less credible denunciations.[37] Many of the local offices were understaffed and overworked, struggling with the paper load caused by so many denunciations.[38] Gellately has also suggested that the Gestapo was "a reactive organization" "...which was constructed within German society and whose functioning was structurally dependent on the continuing co-operation of German citizens".

I have never seen so many words being used to "debate" the exact same foreign policy. I only last about 50 minutes before my head caved in.

I suppose the only thing they were debating was who should execute their foreign policy. No differences at all in the actual policy.

I'm confused. What possible role would the US have in the "New Silk Road", which is all about keeping the west/NATO out of the affairs of the eastern world.

I find it kinda funny that I've never heard SCO mentioned on the MSM and I bet you'd draw blank stares if you mentioned it to a newscaster.

I have heard it mentioned ONCE on C-SPAN, and IIRC I found 3 mentions in a search of their archives. For an organization who's member states have 1.5 Billion citizens and conduct military exercises together and could take on and probably kick NATO's ass, this is odd...

The final murder spree will quite possibly be internal. They haven't been setting up laws like NDAA for no reason.
