Yeah, and in a few days we'll read about how the resident was trying to corral his dog when the cop just opened fire on both.

Dog killed, officers identified in police-involved shooting

A Salem police officer shot and killed a pit bull dog as it attacked him this afternoon, and a man who jumped into the middle of the attack also was struck, receiving a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the foot.

Lt. Dave Okada, a spokesman for the Salem Police Department, said the shooting occurred about 3:25 p.m. at 2020 Park Ave. NE after officers had gone to the address to look for a wanted person. Officers Darren Buchholz and Travis Brossard were in the residence speaking with people when they were attacked by the pit bull.

Buchholz tried to push the dog away but shot it in self defense when it continued to attack, Okada said. As he was firing at the pit bull, 38-year-old Steven Deleon jumped in, apparently trying to intervene in the situation. Deleon was struck in the foot by a gunshot and was taken to Salem Hospital.

Buchholz and Brossard were not injured and were placed on administrative leave while the shooting is investigated, which is standard procedure. The Oregon State Police will conduct the investigation.

OK people… let me start off by saying that I in no way condone the actions of the officers involved, I know I would be devastated if something happened to my dogs. That being said this man is so quick to point fingers.. if he had not been involved in illegal activities, the police wouldn’t have raided his home. Believe it or not it is still illegal for cops to raid your home without probable cause and a search warrant. A judge had to sign the search warrant and in order to get a judge go sign said search warrant they had to have evidence against him… so guess what that leads me to believe, this man wasn’t as innocent as he is trying to make you believe. The police in Detroit are busy so I very highly doubt they raided his home just so they could bully him and his dogs. I know this will tick people off, but I don’t really care. I just think you should keep in mind that had he not been doing what he was doing the police would never have entered his home thus ending up shooting the dogs. If he needs to blame someone, all he needs to do is take a good look in the mirror.

OK, "attacked".

He jumped in while the cop was firing? Something is missing.

Buchholz and Brossard were not injured

So the only one injured was the citizen... by the cop.

Was the injured citizen owner of the dog? I mean, a guy is shooting at a dog and he just jumps in?

Like I said, we'll find out in a few days that the man who was shot was the dog's owner, that he had nothing to do with the police presence in the house, was holding his dog on leash or collar and blammo!

CFC.

Don't live in a bad neighborhood where you have cops coming to your door.

In ALL of America pit bulls kill about one person per month. In Chicago alone police kill about one person per month. Just saying.
