If American children had their way, President Barack Obama would serve another four years as the Commander in Chief.

That’s according to the recent Scholastic Student Vote where those under 18 got to weigh in on the important election. Nearly a quarter of a million students across the country cast their ballots, and the results are in: President Barack Obama walked away with a 6 percent lead over Republican candidate Mitt Romney.

Either the GOP changes its ways or it will become extinct.

If they had held a 'mock election' among the public school teachers of these under eighteeners,Obama would have walked away with a 30% lead.

Either public schools,or at least teachers unions become extinct,or we all become bankrupt.

Only 6 percent? That seems really low. Wow, Obama must really be way behind in the popular vote if this is true.

True as well.

I just mean that the GOP is not helping by clinging to the Bush foreign policy. At least Obama is trying to keep his real foreign policy a secret, we know there is no difference, a few more drone strikes but just as much interventionism.

But, you have to admit, the GOP wears "war!" like a badge of honor. The foreign policy debate will most likely end in disaster for the GOP. Endless war really turns off most young voters and unfortunately for the GOP, the young outnumber the old.

Younger voters always trend this way. it doesn't mean anything for the GOP in the long run, although it doesn't mean the GOP couldn't become more libertarian and start actually getting younger voters

"Any man who is under 30, and is not a liberal, has no heart; and any man who is over 30, and is not a conservative, has no brains."
-Winston Churchill

I'm sure I got in wrong, but it speaks to generally the idea of government as a compassionate force, young people think that if you are denying welfare to the poor that means you don't care about them. Later in life many realize that isn't true, and then they realize that some people don't deserve help.

The Department of Education must be eliminated. The fate of unborn millions depends upon it.
