View Full Version : I turned my class against my professor today

Its just an elective course...but this professor (black lady in her 40s) is definitely an Obama lady. Since like the first day of class she stated that she is a Democrat and she encouraged everyone in the class to MAKE SURE they watch CNN atleast a few times a week, to open up their mind and to see what is going on in the world. So at this moment you can already tell what I am saying to myself in my head.

Well today, out of no where she asked this girl who she will be voting for. SHE SAID "RON PAUL, even if I have to write him in". I turned around nodded my head in great appreciation. My professor then said "that is a wasted vote, there are only 2 candidates". I then unleashed and was like "first of all I am on the same boat she is, and there is also a third candidate". That was when a kid next to me said "GARY JOHNSON" and this black Marine that sits in front of me turned around and gave me a thumbs up. Should of seen the look on her face, totally speechless and did not expect that. Could not believe the people in my class that got behind me it was unbelievable

Feels so good brah

Great!! I used to troll my professors so hard about paradigm politics. Eventually they started failing me on papers because they didn't believe
my sources. Such is life in 1984!

Good job. Next time you're in her class tell her there's actually a dozen or so then name them off really quick with their party. Then for the grand finale tell her only two of them are for endless wars and MIC spending sprees and guess which two the media have the entire country convinced are their only two choices. Twat.

I had a teacher just like the one in your class. She emigrated from Hungary and now is a US citizen and also taught a somewhat meaningless class (ethics). Anyway, it was at the time of the Wisconsin union debacle and she would come to class everyday with some misinformation about the collective bargaining rights negotiated with Walker. Each day, it is Walker wants slave wages for the teachers, Walker wants to take away union pension and on and on and on. I tried every now and then to get the record straight but never challenged her the way you did.

I get into all sorts of political arguments in my classes. Hell, in my Comp class last semester, the Professor (awesome guy) asked me to turn in one of my papers (21 page piece on libertarianism) for a Non-fiction writing contest he holds. He's a big Twain fan, so we're on the same page politically pretty much. There are more of us out there than anyone gives credit for.

Hell yes. That is an awesome story. I remember with pride the day I got kicked out of my civics class for telling the teacher, "Aren't you supposed to be teaching us about our government and not who to vote for? She got all flustered and said that wasn't what she was doing and I said, "Yes it is, and you're probably supposed to be hiding it better than you are." Your experience is awesome. +rep for you and I'm proud of the others too. I love reading good news on here.

Its hard to hate on people like your professor since shes 40 and depends on CNN. I view that as a handicap. I have trouble getting along with the younger set who share the same mentality. They have no excuse.

I am heartened by the news that there were other students who are astute in knowing what the true state of affairs in in the country. The incident also demonstrates the importance of leadership by one person. As soon as one made a stand, others joined, and the snowball effect took over.

People just don't realize that "voting for the lesser of two evils" is the reason we have the government we have, and are in the situation that we are in and will remain in.

Oh, but they do. They KNOW IT. They choose to live by it.

I speak with them on a daily basis. I have been speaking to them for decades, and didn't realize it myself.

You're right, not EVERYONE. But many. Many know, and they use it to lure others into this false paradigm that there are only two choices.

And they get SUPER PISSED when you point out the fallacy of their logic. That shows me they know, and they choose to continue.

Its interesting because i've had more conservative/libertarian teachers say political things than liberal/democrat ones. One was an anarchist economics teacher who explained the truth behind minimum wage and subsidies. The other two were accounting professors. One said something about how he has to pay for the union whether he is in it or not so he joined it for the "free" yearly lunch. And he never really had anything good to say about the government either. The other one made a comment around the primaries about how no matter who was elected nothing would get done...unless Ron Paul was elected.

You did a good job. I almost wish i had a teacher who was like that so i could argue with them.

What many people don't realize about college professors is that they're just as reliant on the government as the lowliest ghetto/trailer park resident. They are "high-class" beggars.

Depends on what program and what school. Most Professors and most college courses/majors would still be in demand in a market society and colleges would absolutely exist. Just because the Government has intervened so heavily as to almost nationalize the industry doesn't mean those working in the industry need the Government. Do the people who build and would administrate roads need the Government? Absolutely not.

Not necessarily. I did the same to my American National Govt. professor a year ago, made it out with a 98 A. I posted about it here as well.

There are many more good people out there than we sometimes think. If you got on the PA system at a NFL game or something and asked for a show of hands I think we would find Ron Paul is much more popular than the media would have us believe.

If you took every Ron Paul voter and placed them in Belize we would be more then 75% of the population I believe, pretty crazy.

Now that would be something. Can you imagine if somebody did that over the PA at a sports game and the media was all confused.....Hell I would do it and happily lose my job. "Yeah that's right. I said it!"

if we kill the notion that 3rd party votes are wasted votes we will see a rise this election. Im focusing all my efforts on killing that idea, 70% of the populace doesnt vote. How can you blame them, if these are the only 2 candidates

Its horrible how so many people think voting 3rd party is a wasted vote. I know someone that is against the 2 party system, BUT STILL THINKS its a wasted vote saying its not "time yet" blaming the media and the society.
