i think there is a lesson in this mess.
i will no longer state 'we need to get rid of government program x"
I will state "we need to fund that program a different way"
that way- if people want it, why would they say they wouldn't voluntarily pay for it?

+rep That's a good strategy. People like to hear that the budget/deficit/debt will be reduced, but words like cut and eliminate tend to scare people...

eh i would say 90%.. getting to know is a fight in and unto itself and by the time you know enough, you will have finished majority of the battles anyway
