Forgot to comment on this before.

Got a call from a political survey group.

I usually don't hang up until I can tell them that I'm voting for Ron Paul.

So, I go through the first few questions until I get to:

"Do you have a blog, write about or post about political issues?"

I answer yes.

Good bye and hang up.

WTF?

Dunno? Maybe they don't count your kind :D

I was selected to participate in the Nielsen tv ratings and about 10 times they asked me if I worked in tv, was related to anyone who worked in tv, was friends with anyone who worked in tv, and the same line of questioning regarding ownership of a tv station. I guess they disqualify those folks; maybe this survey group wanted to poll the non-political types.

They obviously were looking for the low info voter, not people like you who are informed.

It was probably a poll targeting undecided voters that don't pay attention till this time in the political process.

That was my first thought. Maybe they were planning to tell you bullshit to change your vote. They didn't want to argue with anyone who thinks they are informed.

It was Facebook confirming your id.

If your computer isn't plugged into the internet, then you have nothing to fear...

Except for NDAA, Patriot act, Drones, Kill lists, Police, Republicans, Democrats, Co-Workers (see previous two items), MPAA, RIAA. (note: list is not exhaustive, only for reference)

I hope this helps relieve your fear of phone calls from the surveyors of the plain-old-telephone system (POTS).

IMO many of these "polling" calls are not polls at all but data-collection calls. They want your demographic info for marketing purposes, your opinion goes in the circular file.

That's why I give false info, except for writing in Ron Paul.

Doesn't matter, it was just a voice authentication test we were conducting.
