So the military is showing their true colors and overwhelmingly rejecting Ron Paul's anti-war foreign policy.....92% of the military support a candidate that will send them off to war...92% of the military don't give a s*** if the candidate they vote for separates them from their families or is responsible for getting them injured or killed. Sad.

It's an anti-Obama vote. They want him gone like a cancerous lesion. Don't look too much into it.

Most military people I know are the same as firefighters, boxers, or football players - they're not in it to sit on the sidelines.

That's not really the point though. I think 99% of Americans would agree fires are bad....just the firefights want to be there when there is one.

I think many liked Paul, but between the two choices, they probably feel that their jobs are safer with Romney. Surely most of them have at least read about the real world and see how hard it is for the rest of us; they want no part of that.

Being former military let me explain this. They want to be home, yes. However, if you're going to be deployed regardless of which candidate wins, you prefer the candidate who will make sure you have plenty of ammo and the best equipment. Both candidates will send our troops to places they don't belong. One with a bigger budget, and one with a smaller budget. From a soldier's perspective, Romney gives a better shot at coming home alive.

Simple, the people who are politically involved and educated prefer Ron Paul. As evidenced by the campaign contributions we are all aware of.

The majority of members of the military though are just like the rest of the population. They have no philosophical basis for whom they support and get most of their information from MSM. These people don't donate to political campaigns, no less primary campaigns.

Just like your neighbor they know nothing of Constitutional principles or history, and the concepts of non-aggression and property rights are just as foreign to them as they are to any other average American.

As for the picture of Obama with the troops, you could take any section of society and plop Obama down and people will rush to hug him, others won't.

The military has killed hundreds of thousands of people that never harmed the US. Did they actually read their oath and the constitution they pledged their oath to?

The brass ain't fightin' but they're sure as hell taking a stand.

The professional core of the U.S. military overwhelmingly favors Mitt Romney over President Obama in the upcoming election — but not because of any particular military issues, according to a new poll of more than 3,100 active and reserve troops.

Respondents rated the economy and the candidates’ character as their most important considerations and all but ignored the war in Afghanistan as an issue of concern.

(...)

Almost 80 percent of respondents have a college degree — including 27 percent with a graduate degree and more than 11 percent with a post-graduate degree — while an additional 18.5 percent have some college under their belts.

And they are battle-hardened; almost 29 percent have spent more than two cumulative years deployed since 9/11, while a similar percentage has spent one to two cumulative years deployed.

The Military Times poll shows that Republicans continue to enjoy overwhelming support among the military’s professional ranks.

“There is really an affinity for Republican candidates, even though [troops] say that what counts is character and handling the economy,” said Richard Kohn, who teaches military history at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Poll results indicate that about 66 percent of those surveyed support Romney, compared with about 26 percent who say they will vote to re-elect President Obama.

When asked about the most important issue guiding their vote this year, about 66 percent of respondents cited either “the economy” or “the character of the candidate.” Less than 16 percent of troops surveyed cited “national security.”

Did you read the poll, the Military Times article?

Economy is the most important issue for the vast majority of the electorate this year - and that includes the military.

Obama has apparently been cutting the military in strange places, even in places that harm the troops. Of course, its not that he cares about cutting spending, because there is actual non-harmful waste that could be cut.

So the economy is more important to the military than getting separated from their families and getting injured or killed?

Geez, no wonder this country is going down the toilet.

and are they that delusional and brainwashed to think that Obama or Romney will fix the economy?
