Just now digg.com has banned me because of these posts:

"With 300 diggs and over 80 comments the mods buried this story. The jig is up ... I now believe digg moderators are gaming their own site."

http://www.digg.com/2008_us_elections/Ron_Paul_Wins_Nationwide_Zogby_Blind_Poll?t=107052 49#c10709860

And:

300+ diggs and 80+ comments and it (the story) still got buried tells me two things:

1. digg.com has set the algorithm so high that only the moderators will let his posts hit the front page. Thereby showing a bias against Ron Paul

2. digg.com has set the algorithm so high that it takes very little buries to diggs to get buried, thereby showing a bias towards Ron Paul

Either way Ron Paul stories will not make it to the Front Page unless a moderator specifically allows it.

These two posts were talking about how easy it is for a Ron Paul story to get buried or not able to make it to the Front Page at digg.com

That's right folks. Digg.com is officially anti-Paul.

With over 360 "fans" at digg I would have thought I was at least a little popular. How many people there have that many who added them to their friends list?

I am known as Xuvious at digg

Stop putting "Ron Paul" in the title or subject.

ding ding ding.

It wasn't a post that did it.

It was a comment within the post.

Just commenting that the moderators are the ones that get Paul stories to the front page got me banned.

I think they even deleted all of the 270+ comments too.

Digg.com has gone to war with Ron Paul I think.

If you don't like Digg, start your own content aggregator site. There are exploitable flaws in Digg's algorithm.

I like reddit's downvoting system instead of the digg burying system a lot more. It is more transparent, there have been many Ron Paul stories that had like 500 diggs within a relatively short amount of time and were still buried. :/

I guess I should RTFM or something, but I've never understood the buzzwords behind Digg. For example, what exactly is a "digg"?

a digg is how you upvote something on digg and a bury is how you bury/downvote a story

I just stopped using Digg! Which is sad because that is how I found out about Ron Paul just weeks ago.

The problem with Digg is that if your personal bias is different from the aggregate bias of other Digg users, you won't be satisfied with Digg.

Ideally, there should be a Digg-like service where you will find content highlighted by people with preferences similar to yours. For example, if someone agrees with you 98% of the time on Digg/bury decisions, their opinion gets more weight. If someone agrees with you 20% of the time, their opinion gets less weight.

In other words, each visitor to Digg should see a personalized collection of stories on the homepage. Currently, Digg presents the same set of stories to every user on their homepage.

True.

I had over 360 people that made me their "friend" so I think I was rather popular. I've looked at other profiles and very few others had that many people.

I think it boils down to three things.

It was an PrisonPlanet.com post I was commenting in.

It was about Ron Paul (winning a Zogby poll)

And I called the moderators out on the way they are running (ruining) the site.

Funny thing is is that I have seen people post stuff that is very bad, like racist posts showing blacks being hanged and porn. They seem to be ok with the extreme stuff, but no one had better talk about how the brass at digg suppresses Ron Paul stories.

you mean *gasp* there has been blowback on an almost constantly spammed site?
