Wow! I didn't even know about this effort.

Multinational corporation Philips Electronics and the women's organization the YWCA both dropped their sponsorship after being flooded with E-mails and letters from supporters of former Republican New Mexico Gov. Johnson, as well as two election watchdog groups, Open Debates and Help the Commission.

So who else do I need to email?

Edit: Here's the current list.

2012 National Sponsors
Anheuser-Busch Companies
The Howard G. Buffet Foundation
Sheldon S. Cohen, Esq.
Crowell & Moring LLP
International Bottled Water Association (IBWA)
The Kovler Fund
Southwest Airlines

As I said on Facebook, I am glad these companies pulled out but I really wish I had a time machine so I could go convince Romney and Obama's dads to pull out.

Its up to 3.

Philips is the third and by far the largest of the original ten sponsors to pull its support, following similar decisions by British advertising firm BBH New York and the YWCA over the last week.

Southwest would probably be the easiest to sway. Start the emails/calls/tweets!

Nah man, go for the gold. If I had a time machine, the Rothchild/Morgan lines would never have even came into being. :D

In a letter announcing its sponsorship withdrawal, Philips wrote that it was concerned the commission's work "may appear to support bi-partisan" instead of "non-partisan" politics.

They should be required to hang a Budweiser banner right behind the candidates. It's shockingly appropriate for these events to be sponsored by a company that makes pisswater in a can.

Commission on Presidential Debates

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Commission_on_Presidential_Debates

The Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD) began in 1987 by the Democratic and Republican parties to establish the way that presidential election debates are run between candidates for President of the United States....

...The organization, which is a nonprofit corporation controlled by the Democratic and Republican parties, has run each of the presidential debates held since 1988....

...Prior to this, the League of Women Voters moderated the 1976, 1980, 1984 debates before it withdrew from the position as debate moderator with this statement after the 1988 Presidential debates: "the demands of the two campaign organizations would perpetrate a fraud on the American voter." The Commission was then taken over by the Democratic and Republican parties forming today's version of the CPD....

...The Commission is headed by Frank Fahrenkopf, a former head of the Republican National Committee, and former White House press secretary Michael D. McCurry....

I applaud their efforts, but a 3rd party will NEVER be allowed in the debates. #just sayin'

Pressuring corporate sponsors to pull out is still worth it. Let the DNC/RNC dip into their "soft money" coffers for this crap. Plus the fact that this gets (some) media attention means that the 3rd party candidates get at least some media.

Agreed. They won't change until it hits their pocket-books, and this is the only way to get things done. I would love for all sponsors to drop out.
This is really the best news for awhile and proof that things are [slowly] changing.
Just pessimistic. Sorry. :(
