Went out on a wing*, but I don't think the implication here is that he's fixing it. I think it's a metaphor for Romney's campaign crashing and burning on account of the Ron Paul faction. I love metaphors.

Well our strength was being able to attract enough left leaning independents to win it. Maybe that's Ron Paul dismantling Romney's needed votes.

Actually Dr. Paul was being called a gremlin sabotaging Ann Romney's plane. He sure as hell wasn't fixing it.
