On Sunday, September 16th at around 1am, a white van—labelled with “Van Wagner’s” blue logo and topped by a yellow strobe light—circled through permanently lit Times Square. Inside the vehicle, the driver and passenger, both dressed as construction workers, were nervous. They had just vandalized one kiosk a few yards away from an NYPD tower, now they were about to hit another one right underneath the nose of a large white NYPD security camera. Hearing his partner worry, “we’re really pushing some buttons here!” “Essam” shot back, “keep your head down, if they don’t see our faces we’re in the clear.”

He should get a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. On a side note there was way to much personal information in that article. He is going to get caught.

What was done illegally?

Putting the posters up. Its the equivalent of removing posters at the bus stops and replacing them with your own anti-NYPD posters

You know... for a $6000 moneybomb we could put this poster up in the NYC subway system like the "savages poster".

Takers?

ESSAM is a New York based artist, born in New York and raised in Maine. Over time ESSAMs work became more experimental until in early 2012 he began working in the streets of New York. ESSAMs Drone campaign received national media attention and is largely responsible for raising awareness and bringing the dialogue on foreign and domestic UAV use to its current level. In November of 2012 ESSAM was arrested in his home by the NYPD for his artistic work on drones, his case is currently pending.

I'd donate, but in this case a variation of a moneybomb would be better. Get rights to use the print and sell um for 2-4 times cost, sending one to the person that donated. I bet they would start showing up all over the country...
