View Full Version : Glenn Beck loses a sponsor

It has been reported that the maker of Cialis, Eli Lilly & Co pulled advertising dollars from the Glen Beck show late last week. The pharmaceutical giant located in Indianapolis, Indiana was inundated with a flood of calls and emails from those alienated by a recent Glen Beck broadcast.

Eli Lilly & Co. has a history of being community friendly with a conservative management approach and does not like being associated with this type of controversy.

ad agenecy / mgmt follow herd mentality too. They can be very conservative with their $$.

This might trigger a run of sponsors pulling out. We need to let the other companies know that Cialis pulled support.

I tell ya, ONE very determined man brought down Phil Donahue. ONE MAN. And he did it by writing the sponsors.

There was a Christian lady who wrote in to Coca-Cola to complain about them sponsoring The Simpsons in its very first year on the air almost 20 years ago. Coke was buying most of the available ads on that show then. Just that one letter and they pulled all their support for a number of years.

There is nothing confirmed on the Glen Beck subject. As for the Iowa debate there was some form of "confirmation" by one of Ron Paul's paid staffers in Iowa on a radio show. That radio show link was posted a while ago. What happened after that is unknown.

Because I refuse to adopt their tactics. The ends do not justify the means (for me at least).

Agreed. He is just an ass who deserves to have his show taken off the air. He is such a jerk and is trying to piss off Ron Paul supporters and its not even necessary. Let this serve as a warning to him to be more respectful.

Plus Beck is not very intelligent. He bases all of his opinions on the crappy media polls and he keeps claiming he is a libertarian and supports many agencies that libertarians do not support. Btw if this report is true people should write thank you emails to Cialis.

Negative publicity tends to have the opposite effect. Did anyone see what Mitt Romney's campaign did to garner support? Google Romney and see.

I still thikn Ron Paul should go on Becks show and try to really clarify all of his views completely. Beck is a demogogue, certainly, but I think it would be big of the campaign, and would reach alot of people, to go on the show and just talk with Beck. Some of what he has said is inexcusable, but I think Ron should approach this the same way he would approach foreign policy - through talking. If they can really discuss what they have as common ground, and maybe Beck will go from being openly hostile to simply "i like alot of his ideas except on foreign policy, but i respect him".

He was talking to Duncan Hunter and commented about all the Ron Paul signs in Texas.

Bingo. That is why Beck is changing (not really) his tune. Keep complaining to his sponsers about his outrageous behavior, and it will help in other places too.

Beck is a Morman who is hauling water for Romney.

But he softened up on RP a bit tonight. Now we know why. ($$$$)

Ditto. I really don't think that the dailypaul should have posted that without a link that would confirm the story.

By those standards the Glen Beck show would would be an opening grfx shot..him sitting in a chair at a desk for half an hour and then the closing credits.

Let's hope it's true.
Has anyone pointed out to these makers of Cialis that Ron Paul supporters are mostly guys?
