I'm not so sure Kennedy had "turned towards peace" as that one article says. Don't forget about Department of State document 7277, where Kennedy wanted to disarm Americans and have the UN being the only entity who had guns. So, yeah, maybe no more Cold War, but world government. Just dandy.
