Melinda Wadsley, the Iowa Republican elector who resigned last week after disclosing that she was considering writing in Ron Paul’s name for president, is scheduled to appear tonight on MSNBC.

Wadsley, 33, of Ames, was one of six Iowa Republican members of the Electoral College. She said she is scheduled to appear tonight on “The Last Word” with Lawrence O’Donnell. The show runs from 9-10 p.m. [timezone Iowa?]

Wadsley, in an interview, called herself a “straight-ticket” Republican voter. She said she “was fully prepared” to support the GOP nominee when she was chosen as an elector. But, she said, she was angered during the Republication national convention by rules changes proposed by a senior adviser to Mitt Romney’s campaign.

“If Mitt Romney thinks the party is united, I disagree. Why didn’t he take the opportunity to unite the party?” Wadsley asked. She said she knew ahead of the convention that Paul would not be nominated, but she wanted some recognition of the people recruited into the party by his campaign.
