America is addicted to oil. President George Bush said so… and now that phrase is echoed everywhere. But are we really “addicted”?

Our daily lives are dripping in oil. It’s in virtually everything we use and fuels everything we do. To be sure, it is something to worry about. Are we going to run out? Aren’t we fighting wars for oil? But, if we do slow the flow, how will that change the way we live?

When it comes to what we’re told about oil, there’s rhetoric and then there’s reality. Who can we believe? The media? Politicians? Environmental activists? You’d be surprised.

For nearly ten years, journalist turned media analyst MARK MATHIS has studied our use of oil. And what he found shocked him so thoroughly that he made a movie about the misinformation, distortions and even outright lies about oil.

We do have an “oil problem” in America (and the world), but it’s not what you’ve been told. So, it’s time to Fill Up on Truth… for a change.

Wow, this film has actually been out for nearly a year!! Anybody seen it or heard about it? Looks like they were screening it from around Nov. 2011 - Apr. 2012 and then took a break for a while.

They just happen to setup some screenings in my area, I might go check it out. Looks like there is one in TX coming up as well.

Not that I know of, but ya know I have been trying to download or watch 2016: Obama's America without any luck. I think old people still haven't figured out how to download shit yet so all the Republican propaganda films are largely unavailable on the internet. I'm not saying this is 100% propaganda, I'm pretty curious to see it myself.. But the fact that there are no threads about it here and it didn't get too much attention makes me think there are some good gems in there but might not be great overall. We'll see.

Info on the producer:

Mark Mathis is a movie producer and media consultant. According to the website for Citizens' Alliance for Responsible Energy, a group funded by energy corporations, Mark E. Mathis is its founder and executive director. The website describes him as "a former TV news reporter and anchor turned media consultant and trainer. ... In 2002 Mark published Feeding the Media Beast: An Easy Recipe for Great Publicity. ... Mark is also a mid-day host on 106.3 KAGM talk radio with his wife of 13 years, Dianne Anderson. Dianne is a former KOAT-TV news anchor. ... In 2003 Mark began consulting with the Independent Petroleum Association of New Mexico."[1]

In March 2006 Mathis was a co-signatory on a letter, initiated by the Competitive Enterprise Institute, in support of an expansion of oil drilling in the Artic National Wildlife Refuge. [1]

He is the associate producer for Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed, a pro-intelligent design movie, that ties evolution to the Holocaust. Mathis has been criticized for misleading evolutionary biologists PZ Myers and Richard Dawkins to get them to appear in the film.[2] In March 2008 Mathis personally prohibited Myers from viewing the movie that he appears in.[3] In April 2008 XVIVO, an animation company, notified the producers that the company would sue for copying a film.[4] The movie is targetting fundamentalist Christians and creationists.

^Ya I'm really not excited about spending my money to see this unless I get a good review from somebody, preferably from here.
