This site is intended to allow voters to commit their write in vote for Ron Paul,
to set goals for each state, and to track our progress.
Once we can demonstrate that this is a serious movement, we will contact the Ron Paul Campaign to coordinate.

I'm not writing in Ron Paul. I think it was clear throughout the race that he wasn't interested in becoming President, he just wanted a platform to proselytize. The fact that he declined running as an independent/third-party candidate solidified that in my mind.

I'm voting Gary Johnson for President, he's on the ballot in all 50 states and is serious about becoming President.

I'm writing him in, in fact I am filing as an elector so his write in votes will be counted in California. We need more California registered voters to file! As soon as I get the forms from the Secretary of State I will be posting them and asking for more, please be ready to spread the word!

Replied to your other post, so apparently write-ins are not routinely counted in CA. But the question is still why?

That site says it will update weekly.. shame, I'd like to see it much more often.

A lot of us don't want to be on any more lists. I am not just writing him in, I'm filing to be an elector, but I'm not on that web page.

Completely understandable :)
I filled in for Florida but am still toying with renting a place in Alabama in case Fla doesn't count the write ins.. holding pattern on the litigation to make it count everywhere.

Perhaps the table should add a column for states that count undeclared write-ins. Because all Illinois votes sure as hell will not be counted for Ron Paul, and I only say that, because I am familiar with my own state's rules and procedures.

Only if that is a determining factor for someone. For most I know who are writing Ron in, being part of the counted vote as 'none of the above' is better than being counted for a candidate we don't want. Those who do want a different candidate are voting for them. I see the 'counted to his name not as none of the above' issue as a straw man argument by people who are trying to convince others that they must choose between names on the ballot, none of which they want.

If Ron Paul didn't register as a write in candidate, then from what I understand, it won't even be counted. 8 states don't even allow write in's.

All his votes would then be in the 'none of the above' undervote category which is reported everywhere. It depends on the intent of the voter if that is the best option, regardless.

Interesting that you have registered as an elector for this. Are you planning on organizing any campaigning efforts? If so what do you plan on doing there in CA: tabling, canvassing, phone banking, TV & radio ads?
