This will get Obama's ratings up. Most Muslims I know really aren't bad people. The false flag event of 9/11 is mostly to blame for people hating Muslims so much.

2 ships isn't that many. Might be there to evacuate embassy personnel and other Americans in the country.

Wow! That was fast. It took us two decades before we turned on the Saddam; we managed to pull this one off in 15 months.

I don't know, I think Obama wants to help his ratings by getting instant "revenge." I don't think he gives a crap about other Americans living there.

Honestly, liberating Libya wasn't as much fun the first time around. I felt like it went to quick and didn't last 11 years. Hopefully its more enjoyable a second time around.

Okay. So the way I figure it, Israel is mad at us, and Egyptians are pissed over that movie, and some folks were killed in Libya. This is an ideal time to attack... Kuwait? Is that whose turn it is?

About 50 U.S. Marines were sent to Libya to guard U.S. diplomatic facilities. The Marines are members of an elite group known as a Fleet Antiterrorism Security Team, or FAST, whose role is to respond on short notice to terrorism threats and to reinforce security at embassies.

The Marines, sent from a base in Spain, were headed initially to the U.S. Embassy in Tripoli, not to Benghazi
...
Stevens, 52, and a consulate staffer who had stayed behind in the building died in the initial attack, el-Sharef said. The rest of the staff successfully evacuated to a nearby building, preparing to move to Benghazi Airport after daybreak to fly to the capital of Tripoli, he said.

OK, so bailing on one embassy and strengthening the other.

Well, they killed the Ambassador. The point is this situation shouldn't exist because we should have acted differently to begin with, but when they kill the Ambassador sending a couple ships off their shores, if it stops at that, is hard to object to, imho.

The problem is that I have not the slightest trust that anyone has any intention that it stop at that.

Well, them just murdering 4 Americans probably has something to do with it.

The ambassador died from aspiration secondary to smoke inhalation. That's not exactly deliberate. The 3 other staffers that died were shot.

How many Libyans were murdered by US-backed Al-Qaeda forces last year? This wouldn't garner any resentment, would it?

one destroyer, the USS Laboon, moved to a position off the coast Wednesday, and the destroyer USS McFaul was en route and should be stationed off the coast within days.

Officials said the ships, which carry Tomahawk cruise missiles, do not have a specific mission. But they give commanders flexibility to respond to any mission ordered by the president.

At the same time, about 50 U.S. Marines headed to Libya to reinforce security at U.S. diplomatic facilities, initially at the American embassy in Tripoli.

It is for the Embassy, the Marine Guards that should have been there and were not.
