Military Working Dogs (MWD) are protecting the homeland and saving lives every day all over the world. In June, Townhall got an exclusive tour of the MWD facility at Andrews Air Force Base for a feature in the September issue of Townhall Magazine. Check out some behind the scenes photos of dog teams in action.

After finding the marijuana, Rocky gets his reward: play time with his Kong.

MWD Deni practices 'controlled aggression'. Can you imagine without the bite sleeve? On average, a German shepherd's bite exerts between 400 and 700 pounds of pressure per square inch, according to the Air Force website. Ouch!

MWD CsuCsu knows the "suspect" is hiding in there..

I knew a guy that was retired/disabled air force where he used to do the dog training. Now that he was retired he trained the local police dogs for free. His only condition? He refused to train them for drug detection, he said he had no problems with training them for bombs, body recovery, attack etc; but "I'll be damned if I train a dog just so they can ruin some 16yr olds life over some pot" -- he said as he ruffled his own teenager's hair. Good guy he is, need more like him.

Indeed.

The sad thing is, I don't think we are going to get them. This is just a guess, but I would think he was a pretty rare case.
