Even if you are one of the people who rolls your eyes at the mention of Ron Paul’s supporters because you consider them too loud, or too abrasive or just too damn sure of themselves, it is hard to argue with the reasons they are excited.
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to live in a country where the words politician and honest were compatible? That is the country that Ron Paul’s followers fought for this primary season. They also fought for less war, less incarceration, less central planning and less corporate cronyism. Free from the petty, partisan fog that clouds and inevitably ends the discussion of such a constitutionally sound existence, the ideas of Ron Paul are extremely exciting.
It was nearly inevitable that Ron Paul’s supporters would ultimately march out of the Republican convention (their candidate has already blown town too). Where they take their energy and organization from here remains to be seen.
