Under current rules, Paul needs just 5 states. But new rules say he needs 8. Six submitted. Full convention must adopt new 8-state rule.

in fact it sounds like they replaced the REST of Ron's delegates from Maine, they must just be writing the state off for the election as blue.

Didn't they already use up the pro-Romney alternates in getting rid of the first batch of Ron Paul delegates? Surely Ron Paul owned the alternates too. Or are they creating delegates out of thin air?

There were many temporary rules that could be changed for this convention. I don't remember if the 5 state rule was one of the temporary rules.

Either:

1. You are not watching
2. Are blind

The obvious answer is they can change whatever they want, for whatever reason they want, whenever they want. The rules mean absolutely nothing.

"Without objection"

I meant, would the other delegates back us up that that was a rule violation. Malkin isn't tweeting Ron has 6 states, they plan to bury that he did, I think

6 states can demand Roll call I think, of a vote, 10 can demand it be in writing. I texted a delegate there who said he is passing it on. Dammit! Now I have to leave.

RULE NO. 42

Temporary Rules
Rule Nos. 25 through No. 42 shall be the
temporary rules of the next national convention and its
committees and subcommittees.

RULE NO. 40

Nominations
(b) Each candidate for nomination for
President of the United States and Vice President of the
United States shall demonstrate the support of a
plurality of the delegates from each of five (5) or more
states, severally, prior to the presentation of the name of
that candidate for nomination.

I think with the rules report they just adopted, the rules for nomination at this convention have been changed from plurality in 5 states to majority in 8 states.

I know but the change from 5 states to 8 states matters a lot if we submitted nominations from 6 states. I'm still not clear which rule is in effect right now.
