Wow, Bret Baier on Fox News said they were going to do a story on libertarians (thought they might talk about Gary Johnson), and then they started a story with Rand Paul speaking, and then called Ron Paul's rally a libertarian event. They said it was the "Swan Song" of the libertarians, and pointed out that Ron Paul was not allowed to speak at the GOP Convention. Nice spin...

I love how they keep playing the divisive tactic of label bashing, the "he's not a Republican or Conservative! He's a libertarian!"

But, Romney is a self-professed moderate and progressive.

Now they are making a big deal about Ron Paul not endorsing Romney. And saying that "libertarians" need to stick with economic issues and stay away from foreign policy. Also saying that Ron Paul is truly extreme, fringe and crazy (talking about 9/11, blowback, Julian Assange, and Bradley Manning). They are saying it will be tricky for the GOP to get Ron Paul supporters without the crazy rubbing off on them (the GOP/Romney/Ryan). It appears this is all in opposition to Ryan courting Ron Paul supporters in an earlier interview.

The inference is clear: "libertarians" are to be shunned.

I look forward to further "Perot" accusations from them in the near future.

Which is dumb anyway since Perot was a tax raiser and gun grabber and probably took more votes from Clinton than from Bush.

Sounds like they are trying to create a divide with other conservatives so they won't work with us at convention to get the power grabs reversed.

They don't like libertarians. They've been trying to draw the distinction between conservative and libertarian for a long time and will continue to do so.

lets threaten to back gary johnson if doctor ron paul does not go "indy' after tampa!
mr. mitt romney's phalanx of top shelf lawyers are trying to eject the Libertarian Party
candidate from many of the ballots out there across our nation in each and every state.
if we demand that gary johnson attends some of the debates as we remind mister mitt
of who we are and what doctor ron paul has accomplished, then lets do so adroitly!!!

They actually said "swan song of the libertarians?" As if now that Ron is ending his political career, all libertarians will just give up and go away?

They wish.

I guess to Fox News it's not possible to be a conservative and support Ron Paul.

Probably not their definition of conservatism, which is neo-conservatism.

As far as paleo-conservatism goes (real conservatism), Dr. Paul is the most conservative member of Congress.

I guess to Fox News it's not possible to be a conservative and support Ron Paul.

That's because Fox has no idea what a conservative is.

"We report. you decide."

If they wanted to be fair and balanced, they would show Napolitano's Freedom Watch before or after "Bret Baier's Neo-Conservative Variety Hour".

Bush lost the election when he violated his oath to the Constitution.

Not an exact quote. I was going from memory after watching the segment. It seems they were talking about Ron Paul. "7000 libertarians may have witnessed the swan song...for the Texas Congressman". I heard it as "7000 libertarians may have witnessed their swan song", before getting distracted.
