If the "conservatives" are looking for the next Reagan, why don't they back Ron?

Because they are neocons who hate us for our freedoms. ;)

Nice video... but it's only text quotes of Reagan... I wonder if the campaign (or anyone else) has actual video of Ronald Reagan saying nice things about Ron Paul. That would be pretty powerful.

That would be HUGE. Anyone know if any video like this exists? Talk about a great basis for a youtube ad, or it could even be used for the CNN debate.

Yeah, I like that one better. Still text quotes, but a solid video to use as a foundation. If someone were to re-do that video, I would suggest making the Reagan quotes much larger (not at the bottom of the video), and directing people to the www.RonPaul2008.com web site, instead of that guy's blog.

With Ron Paul serving 10 terms, and his meeting with Reagan several times, there almost has to be some video somewhere that shows Reagan praising Dr. Paul, I would think.

Reagan is held in esteem amongst Dems & Reps - we need to link Dr. Paul with Reagan if we can find the video to do that - it would go a long ways towards getting rid of that "Ron Paul is a kook" attitude.

You know, I think we should run an improved version of this, with video if we can find it, on tv. I'd contribute. I think a lot of conservatives would be willing to take a second, more open minded look if this information were out there. To say that reagan has a lot of pull for conservatives is an understatement.

In the 90s, there was some question as to whether the Reagan quote was legitimate. A New York Times article quoted a Reagan official saying that Reagan hadn't given out any such endorsement quotes.

That's why a film or video of Reagan praising Dr. Paul would be so helpful here - you can argue the legitimacy of a text quote, but it's harder to argue with the man uttering the words himself in a video.

I think it's worth having the official campaign try to locate something like that.

Ron Paul might have some personal video somewhere if it is not public. Maybe the campaign could ask him.
