I thought the article was ok. not too
bad. Anybody with facts though knows that Ed Failor's arguments don't hold water. Especially that some of the invited (2 months ago) were still in exploratory committee stage while Ron Paul was officially in the race.

If nothing else, we got Ron Paul's name in the paper. People love an underdog.

Read the article then leave comments. If we leave a huge stream of comments that will get the Register's attention. Keep it positive - don't get personal with the dissenters.

This article is good Iowa publicity.

Has anybody mailed any other newspapers on this? If we had a list here we could coordinate better.

Ed Failor's financial contribution to McCain's campaign:

Ed Failor is a Senior Advisor for the McCain campaign:

This CPA company: (http://www.rothcpa.com/) doesn't think very highly of the Iowans for Tax Relief organization, and here's why: http://www.rothcpa.com/archives/001719.php

Ron Paul had raised more money as of March 31, 2007 than several of the other candidates being included:

Much of this info is included in Lew Rockwell's article:

And is discussed in these threads:

Perhaps we would do well to share this info with our newspapers, as well as some of the talk radio shows. (You could email these links if you think you might be dismissed out of hand as a "kook"). I imagine that even if many of those with neo-con tendencies don't like RP, a lot of them don't appreciate McCain's stance on immigration--a big issue on talk radio (and something Trent Lott sees as a problem: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/15/washington/15immig.html?ref=us).

As someone mentioned in another thread, we might be able to make more of an impact by contacting the sponsors of the forum, rather than the organizers (who seem set in their ways at the moment). If Sharpton was able to get Imus fired by making the advertisers feel uneasy about sponsoring the radio host, maybe we can get RP included. It's worth a shot.

Wow, nice job Liz.

From the article:

Failor said candidates who were invited had to have demonstrated evidence of an Iowa campaign and have visible signs of support, through surveys of caucusgoers. Democrats were also invited, too, but none accepted, he said.Let's show our support at the Forum and let everyone know how foolish of a mistake these organizations have made. This is one of the most important trips you could make this month. If you are in the area. You must go!

Make a difference, be a part of it! Get fired up and let's roll!

This was my post:

Ed Failor's thinking process in selecting "credible" candidates is enormously flawed, or he has an agenda he will not reveal.

How is a nine-term Congressman (now in his tenth term) who has NEVER voted to raise taxes NOT a credible candidate when it comes to the topic of tax relief? How were other candidates who didn't have full campaigns when invited MORE "credible"?

This stinks to high heaven.

I'm no wordsmith, but if you like what I wrote, PLEASE feel free to steal my wording and post / mail / print it wherever you like.

I didn't think the article was that bad. Got his name out there for sure! What this does is put a spotlight on the name Ron Paul, so when the local media covers the event, they'll know exactly who all the signs outside are for.

Nah..the biggest point is if we get enough press, other people will learn from this that if you unfairly leave our Dr. out of something, you will have to deal with US.
