i saw the dumbest thing today. on one side of a guys truck bumper he had a "repeal obamacare" sticker. on the other side of the bumper he had a "mitt romney for president" sticker.

i suppose he doesnt know that romney is the one who started the basic framework for what obama has done.

i wanted to leave him a note explaining this, but i didnt. i wish now i would have and then sat back to watch him read it.:confused:

I like when people sport pro-peace bumper stickers and then have an Obama '08 or '12 sticker on their car at the same time. Cognitive dissonance at its finest. Or ignorance... take your pick.

Add "Nebraskan for Peace" next to a "Obama 2012" bumper sticker. I would understand if it had been a 2008 bumper sticker. I guess he meant peace through war :)

I saw a Semper Fi bumper sticker right above a COEXIST sticker the other day. It wouldn't have seemed odd to me had there been a Ron Paul sticker on there.

Actually, it's pretty indicative of having successfully overcome cognitive dissonce.

I have seen Republicans promote Alex Jones videos on their Facebook pages and still rally around Mittens, saying things like "we must remove Obama." So it's not like they haven't been exposed to at least some of the truth. Go figure.

It's better for the enviroment than a Prius. Maybe that was his joke.

My favorite was a Gadsden flag next to a 'Yes on 8' sticker. Prop 8 was the proposal to ban gay marriage in Kalifornia.

"Don't tell me how to live, but I'm going to tell you how to live." was the message I got from it.

I understand the deeper aspects of government being involved in a religious union. I just found the combination funny.

The first Romney signs I've ever seen are out in my neighborhood. Last time it was full of Obama stickers, but there are two new houses, on the same street, and two new Romney signs. There was a car with an Obama sticker across from one of them, but no sign, this year.

I saw a "Made in America" bumper sticker once.

On a Toyota.

I saw a "Made in America" bumper sticker once.

On a Toyota. It probably was made in America. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Toyota_manufacturing_facilities#United_Sta tes) Given the amount of cross-licensing of technologies, I wouldn't be surprised if a notable portion of it was designed in America, too.

Lol. That was sort of an irony within an irony. I've seen Fords around here with the bumper sticker, "Toyota, from the people who brought you Pearl Harbor"

Toyota is more "made in America" than Chevy, Ford or Dodge. The bumper sticker is correct, just not the way the driver thinks it is.

One time I saw an 'Environment' license plate on a Hummer. I know someone like this. They have a ton of two-stroke dirt bikes, they drive a Chevy Avalanche with the largest engine they could possibly get into it (8.1L!), yet they're always talking about reducing their carbon footprint in a hipster sort of way. I don't even address it. I'm not going to waste my time arguing against that level of confusion.

Toyota is more "made in America" than Chevy, Ford or Dodge. The bumper sticker is correct, just not the way the driver thinks it is. Yep, a number of Toyota and Honda vehicles have been assembled in the US for well over a decade.

I have a US-made Toyota, one of the first in fact. It's an incredibly well-engineered vehicle.

The subject of the OP sounds like an ideal buyer for my suggested Democratic Party bumper sticker, "IT'S NOT WAR WHEN WE DO IT"

I saw a "GOD NOT OBAMA" or something along those lines sticker next to a "WHO IS JOHN GALT?" when Rand was an atheist.

thoughtomator

You can share John Galt's point of view without being an atheist, there's no contradiction there. Just because an atheist said or wrote something doesn't mean that thing is necessarily hostile to belief in God.

Marriage is not an 'entitlement' that the government 'grants' you 'license' to engage in. It is a religious union.

I'll have to upload the pic I had of a car with Republican establishment bumper stickers all over it including Romney. They also had a G17 government plate.

Finally there was window decall saying "Cut spending Now!". Lol..

An outright ban on gay marriage is more government than leaving the issue to be resolved by private entities.

i suppose he doesnt know that romney is the one who started the basic framework for what obama has done.

The response I get back from my friends is that it wasn't Romney's fault because he tried to veto significant portions of the bill only for the Massachusetts Senate to veto all of them back.

He gets a pass because he had to deal with such a blue state as governor... it's all their fault... he was just forced to do it and was directing the will of the people of the state ;)

So they'll argue...

I saw a guy driving a late 2000's Mercedes Convertible with the following bumper stickers:

"Vote America. Vote Socialist"
"Walter Jones(a NC Rep. here), is too extreme"
"Equality for All."
"Tax the Rich!"

I did a double take and my mouth was agape.

Marriage is not an 'entitlement' that the government 'grants' you 'license' to engage in. It is a religious union.

I know. And it just so happens that gay marriage or any other kind of marriage is NOT illegal. That's why I said it was completely consistent. Yes on prop 8 is yes on preventing the government from licensing marriage, not from preventing people from getting married.

PaulConventionWV

An outright ban on gay marriage is more government than leaving the issue to be resolved by private entities.

Prop 8 was not a ban on gay marriage. It was a ban on government licensing of gay marriage. Nobody is going to outright say that two gay people can't walk into a church with 2 witnesses and announce themselves married.
