As of right now the polls for the electoral college votes look like this:

Obama 332
Romney 206

I am thinking delegates should take a stand in Tampa and elect someone who can beat Obama.

At this point in 1980 the polls would have shown a similar result for Reagan.

If delegates could vote their conscience, the result would be closer to the national, popular vote ratio of 51/49.

Go judge Carter go!

Nate Silver is the best at those predictions.

He's mostly in agreement with the above numbers.

Ryan’s ‘Bounce’ So Far:

Historical bounces:

Note that even Liberman gave gore a +9% boost!

"consensus in the polls, showing a net gain for Mr. Romney of between zero and two percentage points since the announcement of Mr. Ryan."

Imagine the bounce Romney would have had with Ron Paul!

I'd love to see Obama lose the popular vote but win overall. The reaction from both side would be hilarious.

I'd love both to lose, just saying.

Romney is no Reagan.

Agreed, but the point is that polling is meaningless at this stage of the game and usually off by a lot. I have followed presidential elections since 1960, and I have learned not to pay much attention to polling this far out.

Yea I'd also love to win the lottery.

Total rubbish. It's way to early to predict. Plus Obama does not have 50% majorities from each of those states.

Ohio is what matters.

Percentage of electoral votes is meaningless in terms of trying to show who is "winning." Percentage of the popular vote is much more accurate.

Sure, Obama could be currently winning 62%-38% of the electoral vote, but what if he's doing so by leading 50.2%-49.8% of the popular vote?

If tomorrow a handful of voters wake up with changed minds, then Romney could be winning 62%-38%

Ryan’s ‘Bounce’ So Far:

This is because Ryan brings nobody new into the fold. The Ryan pick was all about exciting the base. And if you're still trying to excite the base after you've "won" the nomination, you're toast.

Wait, so the poll indicates that Obama will be re-elected?

Pardon me as I keel over backwards out of my chair. Two words:

FOREGONE CONCLUSION

Percentage of popular vote isn't that useful either. As you may recall, Al Gore won the popular vote in 2000.

Romney is no Reagan.

Reagan wasn't peaches and cream either. Don't know why so many long for the ways of the old men who helped make things the way they are.

Reagan opened up the flood gates that allowed for the power that so many corporations have assumed today. Isn't he the one who said the youth were to be targeted for advertising? Now that generation is all grown up and programmed accordingly to accept what it is that we do have. Quite simply we have a merge of corporation and state going on and the people love them for it.

Now one cannot even walk into a store without facial recognition cameras partnering your facebook account in order to oblige the gimme groupies. And...if you don't have a facebook then...well...yer suspicious. See how that worked out?

Yeah. You can keep Reagan too.

Perhaps not,, But I believe it is likely.
I am also convinced that a Romney presidency will be equally as bad,,if not worse.

And with Israel talking shit about attacking Iran soon,, it may make it entirely irrelevant.

Well, we'll see if there's any Republic left. I mean, if there are truly differences between these 2 anoited clowns, then the "Conservative Republican GOP Romney campaign would be reaching out to; Independents, Constitutionalists, Libertarians, Bluedogs, etc etc etc...

We've haven't received jack shit form Romney and his klan of thugs on the right wing, at taking up/inviting; conservative/libertarian/independent/constitutional platforms/issues, which means, this is all Kabuki Theater from the 2 criminal crime families of the same TPTB vulture.
