View Full Version : Anyone Plan On Voting?

Keeping all the delegate fiasco aside, let's assume nothing comes out of it for the liberty movement except maybe a few important issues added to their convention platform (audit the fed, internet freedom), do you plan on voting in the presidential election? And let's be real, Ron Paul is not going to be the nominee and I don't think he would want to be the nominee at this point.

I don't know who I am voting for, and if I were I probably wouldn't tell you. But as has been pointed out - there are lots of other races on the ballot. I am certainly going to go to the polls that day.

I voted Libertarian or third party because there is a chance G.J. could be on the ballot in OK. Apparently, AE took back their ballot position from his campaign. I'm hoping he gets back on.

If not, I am sitting out.

The fact that "Anyone plan on voting" is a poll in a political forum speaks volumes about how totally broken the established system is right now. I'm torn between laughing and wondering if I should smoke crack and say "Fuck this shit" and wait to watch it burn. It's so difficult to be such an indecisive libertarian that can't just put on a happy face and join an orderly line.

I can't answer yet. All I know for sure is I will not vote for Obama.

This. However, I voted. There were a couple of people I didn't "mind" voting for and one judge I wanted to vote for.

If Ron Paul is not on the ballot I'm not voting!!! I can't possibly settle!! I could never vote for mitt Romney, I can never vote for Obama, and I will not be voting for Gary Johnson either. So I will do what I have done for the last 20 years and that's stay home come voting day! Or I will go and I will write Ron Paul's name on the ballot even if I'm not allowed to do so in new York state.

Oh, come on, who's honestly going to vote for Mr. Marxist?

I know Romney is no better, but, you can't write-in, abstain, or vote third party instead? Or are you that pissed off at the Republican party? (we all are)

So you would vote Obama...why now?

didn't say i would vote for obama. I'm weighing my options. So far we don't really have a GOP nominee yet. The idea and strategy of voting for obama has some interesting options, and have already been stated in other threads.

After 46 votes, the score is still ZERO votes for the Republicans.

The GOP better have a look at this poll.

After the outright cheating this election by members of the GOP by Maine, Louisiana, Massachusetts, as well as other incidents I am adamant to not vote Romney as well as Obama. Gary Johnson has bothered to continue fighting and has additionally asked for our votes. He may not be in line with some of our policies like Ron, but it's a good start.

Ron charged a generation of youth this time around. And he did so like a professor in the classroom. He addressed the relevant facts and issues. That said, Ron certainly isn't a closed book once this is over, I don't think. Lots of lessons still to be learned in Doc Paul's classroom. Hopefully he's still up for it in some form or the other as far as think tanks go. There is still a dire need to educate the youth and they must be prepared to take on the hawks they'll certainly be asked to consider for future elections.

I think there are some questionable elements who perhaps rode Paul's coat tails this time around who are way to quick to rub elbows with the establishment in a manner that impedes the true terms of controversy.

That's all I'll say about that.

Should have had a "undecided as of yet' option.

I personally think anyone who supports RP should sit this one out in protest. As for those thinking of voting for Johnson, I hope they know that this guy is getting tax dollars to fund his campaign.

what if it is none of the above? Write in Ron or vote for all but President and let the tally between those who vote and those who vote for president document your 'none of the above' vote. Hard to spin as not bothering to vote -- because for all other offices you did vote.

I know. I admire Ron fiercely for it, but could you imagine the even third party run he could make, next to what other third parties do, if he took matching funds?

Oh well.....

The GOP has pissed me off to the point I will vote for the socialist just for spite to accelerate the destruction, so we can start the rebuilding sooner rather than later.

It's a lot tougher choice for me than it is for most people. I've voted straight GOP all my life, and I absolutely can't stand Obama. But at the end of the day, I'm just so sick and tired of all these wars that never end, and Romney is proposing at least two more. I just can't go along with that.

I live in Kansas, so my vote doesn't matter (at least for top-of-the-ticket elections). I was called by a poller the other day. He gave me the option of Obama or Romney but I told him Ron Paul. He sounded confused, must not have had a check box option that included Ron Paul on the software he was using.

If Ron Paul is not on the ticket, which I dont expect he will be, I'll probably sit it out. I believe that ANY candidate that has even made on to the ballots is put there, the same way that we are told to support Romney. Its a Dog and Pony show for the Fox News viewers.

Ron Paul would be the only type of person that could make a difference in the Oval Office. The next place we can make a difference is all the rest of the places that the MSM doesnt focus on. Getting more Senators and Congressmen that are true Statesmen into office will make a difference. Getting Statesmen in at the Local Level makes a difference. But so far, no one has had the intelligence, honesty, or integrity that Ron Paul has, and no one else has earned my respect.

These results don't surprise me. I'm not going to vote for Obama or Romney, but I am going to vote for someone. To me it's not about picking who I think is going to win, but rather my duty to pick the best candidate who deserves the job. If the rest of the nation makes a bad decision, that's on them, not me.
