Rep. Lois Capps — whose campaign spends a lot of time talking about her opponent Abel Maldonado’s issues with the Internal Revenue Service — didn’t report more than $40,000 in income from a rental unit on her property until earlier this year, more than a decade after she first started to receive the revenue, and six years after her accountant publicly acknowledged the income.

Meh, whatever, I'd want to hide it too, but I don't act like everybody else wants to pay high taxes.
Then she sent me this in an e-mail this morning and it pissed me off enough to write up this thread.
Stopping the Growing Panga Boat Smuggling Problem
Recently, I convened a meeting with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, including Sherriff Bill Brown, the U.S. Coast Guard, Dept. of Homeland Security, and Customs and Border Patrol, to work on the problem of drug trafficking organizations smuggling drugs and undocumented immigrants into California by panga boats. Unfortunately, we’ve seen a significant increase in the use of small boats for smuggling in our area. We need to increase enforcement and investigative pressure on these illegal activities, and that’s why I’m working to ensure that federal agencies are providing local law enforcement the tools and resources they need to do their jobs and stop this growing problem.
