We don't really have 900 military bases, do we? I thought it was that we had some kind of presence in those places, but it wasn't necessarily a base. Or, am I remembering incorrectly?

I've heard Ron say before that we have over 900 foreign military bases. I thought that was correct.

Yeah, I have too. But, I also thought it was later determined that this wasn't really an accurate depiction. We have a presence, yes. But, they aren't all bases. At least that is what I recall. But, I could be wrong too.

We know the federal government will not reveal every foreign base, but according to 2005 records we have 737.

I think he said we were in that many countries, but I think when analyzed a bunch are security for the embassy. Gunny has said that, and I believe him. It means Ron's numbers are correct, but if people point that out they might be less persuasive, when the number without that is huge, too.

From post 8: 737 Bases, so about 140 are embassy details only.

Some "bases" may be minimally staffed, per-positioned war supplies.
