Isn't “Organizing for America” a Obama Group?.

Between 100 and 200 Occupy protesters marched through downtown Oakland, Calif. Friday night, smashing several car windows and the glass front of President Barack Obama’s local campaign office, according to media reports.

The protesters had taken to the streets after being denied a permit to demonstrate at a monthly art walk, San Francisco ABC affiliate KGO-TV reported.

Several Obama campaign volunteers were working inside the office when the window was smashed with a brick, according to KGO. No one was hurt.

Twitter user David Colburn posted an image shortly after 9:30 p.m. showing a shattered glass window beneath an “Organizing for America” banner, with a large rock or brick still partially lodged inside.

“Smashed windows at Obama campaign’s downtown #Oakland HQ,” Colburn tweeted.

An Oakland police spokeswoman told the Contra Costa Times protesters started organizing around 9 p.m. She said police were following the protesters during their march.

Oakland has been the scene of some of the most violent clashes between Occupy protesters and law enforcement.

Please think twice before supporting the "Occupy" movement.

Yes- Organizing for America is an Obama support group. They were the ones with the smashed windows- not the ones who did the smashing- note the picture. (The way you asked the question seemed to indicate you thought they were behind the actions- sorry if that was an incorrect assumption on my part).

More details on what the protesting was about: (language advisory): http://www.indybay.org/newsitems/2012/08/04/18718838.php

I asked the question because i did not know this group. more research is needed on my part. Interesting would be how the media will spin this.

Well, they have warn out their use for the establishment. I expect Obama's police state to make an entrance and start smashing some skulls. Either that or he'll call them "tea party infiltrators" and bomb some more kids in the middle east using drones from his cushy little desk to relieve the anger.

Just think of the lesson that those working in that office are going to get about the broken window fallacy. :)

I did not break that !
Angry statists did !

People are really delusional when they think they can resolve an economic crisis with property destruction.

By the way what is the proper police response here: when they don't engage and property is destroyed they are criticized. When they do engage and people are hurt they are criticized.

At this point you're basically the referee in a basketball game: all sides hate you.

I think they are using self control so they don't end up like what happened last week.

But watching people destroy property and not stepping in to stop them isn't the answer either. Oakland is losing a lot of small businesses to this - and this is an area that can't afford to lose any more business.

OWS did not do that, somebody else made that happen for them.

Such is the fate of the police, They are well paid referees. In the mean while, the best way to protect yourself is to avoid committing violent acts

This may be an outcropping of what is going on with Anaheim. Just trying to figure out motivation for the person who broke the door. Frankly, its hard to know given the media black out and criminal response by Anaheim cops.

Follow the link in the third post. It's mostly about the city not approving permits for street venders and artists, but also very much a part of OWS and in support of Anaheim.

This is the part I really liked:

The dance then continued down Telegraph, pausing in front of the Obama Campaign Headquarters, where the windows were smashed.

The Democratic Party and Obama campaign have continually attempted to co-opt the Occupy Movement. Many Occupiers are critical of the Democratic Party for making promises that it is incapable of keeping, as it is little more than an extension of the corporations that fund it.

Perhaps the smashing of the windows in today’s march was Occupy Oakland’s way of rejecting Obama’s too-good-to-be-true campaign promises—the promise of easy hope in exchange for giving in to the farce of two parties within what is actually a unified totalitarian system.

And Obama reaches out to these people thinking they are his base!!!! ROTGLMAO!!!!!!!!!! :D

Who gave you the authority to question his right to speak as he feels? You can trash it and stomp on it or agree with but you have no authority to stop it.
