Dear Editor: The Democrats have been complicit in taking us down this road called American imperialism, and if they have to detour down Fascist Lane to get there, they will. They're not changing this administration because they like where it's going.

We've got a Congress that's bought and paid for by the military industrial complex; there are bases placed strategically around the country to make sure someone always complains if they're shut down, and over 700 bases around the world with personnel living in resort towns who aren't about to give that up.

The 2008 election is going to provide the perfect opportunity to overthrow this corrupt and ultimately doomed system. We're going to have Hillary Clinton and Rudy Giuliani running dirty smear campaigns against each other, and voters will be looking for a third party candidate who has something else to offer.

Only Ron Paul can bring the right wing and the left wing together and out-compete the other two. It's doubtful he'd get any of his really regressive social policies past Congress, but as commander in chief, he can bring home the troops, everywhere. To fret about his social policies seems pointless because if the military industrial complex keeps running the show, we're going to get regressive social policies by default.

Seriously, if we don't leap at this opportunity, all will be lost.
