Germany's Südwest Presse (press syndication service for small local newspapers in southwest Germany) had a quite nice piece about Ron Paul and the grassroots:

Quote:
"His unconventional appearance and credible espousal for his poltical agendas and against the establishment in Washington have supplied him with the most colorful and most active bunch of supporters in the history of U.S. politics."

Now if that aint true :D

SW Germany holds a lot of US military bases, so I thought it was worth posting here :)

Presidency election fights in the USA bring phenomena out again and again. The strange thing of the election campaign 2008 is called Dr. Ron Paul. The 72-Jaehrige is a retired physician from Texas, delegate in the house of representatives and one of the republican candidates around the US presidency. The reason: However on one day, 5 for November, he could with the help of the Internets over four million dollar into his election campaign cash bring in. An on-line donation record in the USA. And without own effort. Its trailers most different political Coleur proclaimed on their part a "revolution". On the official homepage to its candidature it is to be read that Dr. Paul helped his physician activity over 4000 babies in the framework into the world. It and its wife Carol have even five children and 17 grandchildren. However his unorthodox occurrence and convincing occurring for its political requests and against the establishment Washington brought it the most multicolored and most active heap of fans, whom it gave in the history of the US politics. Paul is the only republican candidate, who from the outset was against the Iraq war. He finds strict words for the miserable budget politics of the government. In addition it is a strict interpreter of the US condition. Ron Pauls movement could have unpleasant consequences for so some republican opponent. Above all, because it has now the necessary moneys to use long-proven election campaign means: Television and radio.

The best part is that German as a language gets to the point in a much more in your face way most of the times (the translation is literal).

Harsh words indeed.
