I heard this song today and thought of Ron Paul and the music he puts out at the college rallies.

That reminded me of this picture.

Then I thought that there probably wasn't just one new hero out there to pick up and play Ron's music.

It could be that the tune he plays will perpetuated by the thousands. From the full on speakers to perhaps some that just hum along.

Me 2. But I'd rather be old than do the silly shit kids do now. I remember when kids played real guitars instead of Guitar Hero. /old

I think I was in the sixth grade when we had some kind of show in the auditorium. Some of the people in my class had put a four piece band together with drums, guitar, a bass and I guess a singer. They sounded pretty good. I didn't know we could do that!

I was in the school orchestra or band. What ever it was then.

What ever it was, it wasn't anything like electric guitars and drums.

Did you play kazoo, slide whistle, or tambourine? ;)

I'm with you guys. Although the "video game instruments" have not been officially banned in my house, I think there's a general understanding that when any of the kids show an interest in music that they will be directed towards musical instruments and not video games. The eight year old can play riffs from Iron Man and Crazy Train on the keyboard, and the younger one has asked about getting a recorder (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Recorder). I may have to grab a couple of those this week.

I tried the guitar hero game once a few years back. Like Randy Marsh, a song that I could muddle through on a real guitar came out as garbage on the video game. Unlike Randy, however, I just determined that the game was BS and actually spent more time playing the real thing in the last several years instead of attempting to become proficient at the game. But... to each his own. If anyone enjoys the game and has no interest in learning to play guitar, that's a valid choice in a free society.

I've sort of kept up with my clarinet over the years. I Recently electrified it. It is pretty good, but it's still a clarinet.

We all used to have those slide whistles when we were kids. They would mysteriously disappear though.
