Dear Maine resident:

Pursuant to RNC Rule 22 and the Procedures for Contests adopted by the RNC Committee on Contests, please find attached the Notice of Contest to your right to be seated as a Delegate or Alternate Delegate at the 2012 Republican National Convention.

A copy of the attached Notice has also been sent to you and the Secretary of the RNC via registered mail.

Regards,

Peter Cianchette, Contestant

Cianchette served two terms as a Maine State Representative (1996–2000) from South Portland and Cape Elizabeth and was the Republican candidate in Maine's 2002 gubernatorial election, making a credible showing. He served on the National Republican Committee and as the Maine General Chairman of the Bush-Cheney 2004 re-election campaign.

Cianchette was appointed ambassador by President Bush and sworn in on May 8, 2008. He presented his credentials on June 12, 2008 and served until June 19, 2009. He was the 56th person to hold the position.

Yep.... no use from I told you so but this shouldnt be left for every delegate to deal with it individually. That are 2 states that Rons delegates are being challenged.

I'm betting there have been dozens of such letters sent out last night to delegates in any state where RP delegates have or may have a plurality.

What they're trying to do - even if they can't stop RP from having a 5-state plurality - they are trying to make sure they have 2/3 majority stacked with establishment R's so they can do whatever they want on the floor - particularly with regards to the VP selection.

I thought we didn't have 5 states, why are they so worried?

Challenging them on what grounds?

Challenging them on what grounds?

If you read the challenge, it's saying that there were credentials issues at the convention, illegal votes etc. Funny because that would disqualify their delegates as well.

saying it was going to happen wasn't and isn't news. What wasn't said was what we should do about it.

they are slime, we already knew that.

they wouldn't care because RNC would appoint if they get away with it. The illegal votes were all on the Romney side, Charlie Cheater was there with the fake ballots, remember?

Willing to bet the official campaign was a) not prepared to fight this and b) will just let it happen without much resistance.

they'd better have been prepared, the attorney Romney sent to the state convention said at the time of the convention they were going to challenge it.

We'll see.
