Because it's not enough to give below market rates to people who actually live in their homes...HUD is looking to expand the "mortgages that come with cash to make repairs" program to investors and people with second homes, too.

They sure are free with our money. It's weird though, somewhere I heard that our government was bankrupt. Perhaps HUD didn't get the memo.

I know how to tile & kluge is good with drywall/electric. I can paint like a mofo and do minor plumbing. Let's go flip some houses!

I wish I had extra money - I'd take you on on that. Even better, we could rent them out and generate a perpetual income stream.

I know you would--perhaps someday. I'm researching the possibility of renting out the pole barn on the property we bought--seems like it could be a decent idea for a city person like myself who has zero experience with horses or other farm creatures.

But we'll be tapped-out, cash-wise for a while.
