WASHINGTON -- In a rare moment of bipartisanship, the House overwhelmingly passed a bill by Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) to audit the Federal Reserve.

The bill, which has 270 co-sponsors, passed 327 to 98. All but one Republican voted for it, along with 89 Democrats.

Robert Turner of New York. He ran in the NY Senate primary and lost so he won't be returning to Congress next year.

Any way Rand can bring it up in the Senate without Harry Reid?

Shame that the woman who beat him in the primary doesn't stand a chance in the general. She's down 35 points, but it is New York.

I believe he can as an amendment. I know there is a lot of anti-GOP sentiment on here, but if the GOP controls the Senate it will be far easier for Rand to get bills to the floor.

I'd liek to see a "Mission Accomplished" meme picture with Ron on it.

Thanks in advance.

Paul's son, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), "will probably start insisting on this as an amendment to everything under the sun, so it's possible it comes up for an amendment vote at some point."

LOL... :p

Yes. Then a conference committee will meet to work out the differences between the two bills.

So, is this bill DOA when it hits the Senate? The article alluded to that.

Pretty much so. Since the GOP does not control the Senate, Reid can bury S202. Rand can offer the legislation up as an amendment to other bills though, and try to push a vote through that way.

Amazing this has happened.

This should be a lesson to those who crap all over the GOP. Every GOP Rep less one voted for the Bill. If we get bills that can get widespread support among our coalition and allies, the rest of the conference will generally line up in support. Even the neo-cons who we don't agree with on every issue.

I'm not. When a bill has large scale support in the conference the leadership will be right there with the rest. It took many years, but the support for this bill was strong among the GOP conference. The leadership bucking the rest of the House, when there was such strong support for the bill would be a little off.

Senator Tim Johnson's facebook https://www.facebook.com/SenatorTimJohnson
He is the one that must bring S.202 into committee and to the floor.

Audit the Fed Bill has no chance of passing the Senate. This is why I have always advocated how important it is to make sure WE win the top spot, the Presidency. We can win all the little state seats we want feeling good about it but we won't win in the end with that strategy. It brings zero power to accomplish anything. In order to stop the madness you need a person in power to veto and erase all previous illegal executive orders.

I am willing to bet many congress people who voted for the Bill did so because they knew it would not pass the Senate. It's their way out. It's how the crooks play the game. D. C. is a joke.

A moral victory for sure but that is it. The Fed will keep on going and putting their puppets in office.

IF we can get local media in South Dakota to bring attention to it, who knows, maybe Tim Johnson will bring it up in committee. We work on what we can work on to get attention brought to the subject and try to educate about the importance of getting this done.

I don't think we should give up on the senate before we have even really got started on it...who knew we would get 327 in the house...
