I doubt it's a concern. If so, an idea:
You can use the Iowa headquarters street/city address (your name, their address) on the return address. In fact, that might increase the open rate. Plus, they have a place to go to get more information and talk to people. Iowa HQ Office, Des Moines Bldg:

You can also ChipIn to help the Lincoln, NE Meetup pay for postage, envelopes, paper, etc. for the 2600 letters they are trying to do.

or perhaps if you point out the fact that you are spending your own money and time writing letters to a person you've never met in another state for something you strongly believe in, they'll take it more seriously...
