Who really cares? Romney can name whom he wants. It's over. He won. Just ask Rand.

I'm not going to vote for Romney no matter who he nominates, but I still hope he nominates someone more conservative, such as Bobby Jindal from Louisiana.

I'm not voting for Romney so I really don't care, well unless he chose Ron or Rand. But honestly Condi Rice is a good choice for him in a strictly strategic political sense.

some twit on twitter is tweeting all sorts of crap.. I won't repeat it, but when I responded to some of it, she told me to chase chemtrails. (Presumably a topic that concerns her). There seems to be a sort of resurgence of this stuff.

It's set to air at the 8 PM ET hour. They showed a preview of the interview so I'm guessing that's where the author got the information.

I disagree, Condi Rice is a pro choice, liberal Republican who would just remind voters of George W. Bush.

And BECAUSE she was Bush's Secretary of State, her being pro choice and liberal will not bring over any independents, either.

I think a lot of mainline republicans like her. Those same people don't dislike Bush. I read she has an 80% approval rating among republicans. Plus let's face it she's black and female, uninformed people will vote for Romney/Rice just because of that. But what do I know about mainline republicans anyway? Just my thoughts. That ticket is not getting my vote.

Very sad. That just shows the Republican Party has a long ways to go to be reformed into a party that supports limited government in any meaningful way.

Sigh. At least when the talk was all about the prospect of Tim Pawlenty, I thought "gee, how much more 'magoo' or boring can you possibly get?"
And now Condoleeza Rice? Boring she's not. Satan, however, she may well be.

Jindal is a product of the Bush administration and is not a conservative.

he's simply positioning himself as someone that -might- pick her. but he won't.

Like i said on another thread..... they will be testing the waters with several names these next couple weeks. I imagine we'll end up hearing 3 or 4 different names pretty soon and depending upon how the public reacts the Romney team will then make a decision.

The term "conservative" has been hijacked as badly as the term "liberal".

It's all sort of an amusing exercise since (imo) no matter who Romney picks, he will (deservedly) get trounced in November.
I've said it before, but I repeat: Jesus Christ could return and be Romney's running mate. I won't vote for him, no matter what.

Not to be rude, but why do so many people care so much about the VP choice? The VP role (on paper) is pretty limited, and Romney is not likely to die in office or be dethroned. /curious

Not rude it's a valid question.
Ron would not be a typical VP. The threat of Ron as VP speaking out would do wonders keeping Romney in line. Rand as VP exponentially increases his chances to be president someday.
Neither looks very likely anymore.

Condi would be a horrible pick. If the campaign thinks they need help in FL or OH (swing states), it will be Rubio or Portman. I think Rand would be his best choice, but Jim DeMint would excite a lot of small govt, back to the constitution folks, and even those evangelicals who are as disenfranchised as we are with Romney. But neither of them are from a swing state, so...

A lot of what Bush did came directly though Cheney given his position on the neocon ladder. In that respect, the VP can carry a lot more weight then you would assume.
Candi as VP would give Chevron direct access again

"Bush and abortion aside, libertarians also howled about Rice’s performance as Secretary of State, noting that the legacy of Bush’s foreign policy leaves much to be desired and hardly lends foreign policy credentials . Writing for the American Conservative, Daniel Larison argued earlier this week that Rice would be a “uniquely poor choice for VP”:
Rice did a lousy job as National Security Adviser and Secretary of State, and she has the unusual distinction of being distrusted and disliked by many neoconservatives, most realists, and all non-interventionists in almost equal measure. She is closely associated with an administration that was widely regarded as incompetent in the conduct of foreign policy, and she helped to craft one of the least successful foreign policy records of any postwar administration. Those are her qualifications in the area in which she is considered an expert. On everything else, her policy views are either out of step with the majority of her party or unknown, and she has never run for office at any level. Romney certainly needs someone to make up for his lack of foreign policy experience and knowledge, but Rice would be one of the worst conceivable people to have in that role." http://www.theblaze.com/blog/#post-366785

Icing on the cake of how terrible Romney is. He needs to lose, by any means necessary, especially if Rice is his VP. Nothing says sadistic like this woman. She reminds me of serial killers who are also accomplished artists in other areas besides murder. Condi played the piano very well as she took up the role of public face for Bush's crimes.
Even funnier that she probably voted for Obama and supports abortion. If Romney wants to hitch himself to a killer, have at it. I just hope people will write in, vote third party, or vote Obama. Anything to keep Mitt OUT of the White House.

Exposure, just like we care about Ron giving a speech at the convention. Plus, VP Ron Paul is a lot better than simply retired congressman. Doesn't matter though, there's no way in hell he's going to be picked as VP

I just cannot understand how some of you would prefer 4 more years of 0bama, to ANY possible GOP potus.
If Obama is reelected, and gets majorities in the house and the senate, this nation is toast. done. fin'e. the end.

We're actively trying to prevent that type of situation REGARLDESS OF WHO IS IN THE F@&*ING WHITE HOUSE. Just because the President has an R next to his name doesn't automatically make his policies any less untenable. Next it's gonna be OUR FAULT if the world end's because we couldn't reanimate JOHN F@&*ING WAYNE and get him to suck dick and shit rainbows.

An Obama win means we will be able to run a new Liberty candidate (Rand or whoever) a lot sooner than if Mitt won.
