I was worried about this when Rachael Maddow started this 'Nebraska' meme... the media certainly seems to be trying to establish RP must win Nebraska, which very well might not be the case.

It's either an incompetent media, or a strategic plan on their part. Most likely, both - a strategic meme by TPTB to further minimize the Ron Paul threat that the incompetent media will spread like wildfire.

I think Maddow likes to stir the pot. The others are just parroting off her because they don't bother to do their own research.

Personally I have really enjoyed Rachel Maddow's coverage of Ron Paul the last few weeks. She's a decent journalist and her recent appearence on Bill Maher soled that for me.

I hope our people will not fall for this and throw in the towel. We have learned from experience that it is best to fly under the radar. I think we have a very good chance, otherwise why would they be trying so hard to stop us? And please tell me what frightens Romney so much that he can not give Paul 15 minutes to be heard? Romney thinks he is all that and can take on Obama... but he can't allow a fellow Republican to speak?

Ron Paul 2012! I am wanting far more than just a chance for Ron Paul to speak. I also want people to finally listen!

Rep. Ron Paul faces long odds in his last chance to win an official presence and speaking slot at the Republican National Convention.

Paul supporters are organizing for the Nebraska state GOP convention on Saturday, which could give the libertarian Republican candidate enough support to grant him a 15-minute speech at the party's August convention in Tampa. Under RNC bylaws, Paul will qualify as a candidate for the nomination in Tampa-and be afforded a speech at the convention-if he can demonstrate plurality support among delegates in five states. Paul controls a plurality in Iowa, Minnesota, and Maine, and he could meet that mark in the still-disputed Louisiana delegation.

Oh, I see. They are changing the 'Nebraska is last shot!' meme to a 'Nabraska last shot IF Louisiana is counted' meme. Right MSM, gothcha.

A cool idea would be to buy alot of RNC tv ads and play the LA tubes.

We might have to have it done by a candidate though, I think tv stations are not allowed to deny ads to political candidates.

The media does not want to legitimatize the Nevada delegation for purposes of nominating candidates. Else they would all be talking about it.

To be honest, I'm shocked that anyone in the media is even discussing the fact that Ron could possibly be nominated from the floor.

Rep. Ron Paul faces long odds in his last chance to win an official presence and speaking slot at the Republican National Convention.

Paul supporters are organizing for the Nebraska state GOP convention on Saturday, which could give the libertarian Republican candidate enough support to grant him a 15-minute speech at the party’s August convention in Tampa. Under RNC bylaws, Paul will qualify as a candidate for the nomination in Tampa–and be afforded a speech at the convention–if he can demonstrate plurality support among delegates in five states. Paul controls a plurality in Iowa, Minnesota, and Maine, and he could meet that mark in the still-disputed Louisiana delegation.

Those involved in Nebraska’s convention, however, say Paul is a long-shot to win there.

“We have a rough count,” said Laura Ebke, who runs the Nebraska chapter of the Republican Liberty Caucus and is leading the organization of Paul-backing delegates. “We don’t have a majority. We have a significant minority.”

Nebraska GOP Executive Director Jordan McGrain shared that assessment. Having seen the list of registered delegates, McGrain said the Ron Paul faction is “not that close” to overtaking the convention majority.

Aside from Heineman, the Romney campaign does not have a presence in Nebraska working against Paul, according to McGrain. The campaign does not have an office in the state. Paul’s campaign did not have staff working on the convention as of Wednesday, Ebke said, although she has been in touch with the Paul campaign during phases of the Nebraska primary process.

To some extent, the outcome of Saturday’s convention has already been determined, as it will reflect campaigns’ success or failure to organize in February and June.

The state-convention delegates, who will vote on Saturday, were chosen at county conventions in the first 10 days of June. To attend and vote at those events, participants had to register by March 1. Ebke said she was in touch with Paul’s campaign in February.

Of the 400 state-convention delegate seats, not all are expected to show up. Paul’s best chance, at this point, is for Romney’s supporters not to attend. Nebraska’s Republican governor, Dave Heineman, has been making phone calls on Romney’s behalf, according to sources in Nebraska, while the state party has remained officially neutral.

Comments are fantastic! People are fired up. Here's one section:

Good [the writer of the article] “omitted” an important FACT about Louisiana. The delegates elected a new Chair by a clear majority. The former Chair REFUSED to seat the new Chair & tried the Ignore tactic. When this didn’t work, he had his thugs DRAG OUT the new Chair, almost breaking his recently operated on hip replacement. That’s when the delegates turned their chairs around & resumed the convention under the newly ELECTED leadership. Then, the old voted out Chair, tried to remove the mic from the Convention Secretary. His thugs BROKE THE GUY’S FINGERS trying to remove the mic!!!!

Good, how could you in “good” conscience omit these things from your “report?” You also left out how Romney’s thugs have denied the ELECTED delegates in Massachusetts their seats at the convention. Do you not know there is a revolution going on in this country & it’s not being reported or televised? Do you know what a wreck our nominating system is? Do you not know the crimes that are being comitted? Do you know there’s a suit over this in the 9th Circuit RIGHT NOW???

Ron Paul has won the plurality of delegates from Iowa, Nevada, Colorado, Maine, Minnesota, Louisiana, and Massachusetts (Yes, Ron Paul won the majority of delegates from the state where Romney was governor). Nebraska would be number 8. Of course, the Massachusetts GOP is forcing all National Delegates to sign affidavits stating they support Romney. If they refused to sign it…the Massachusetts GOP was removing delegates that were legally elected at the Massachusetts GOP convention and replacing Paul supporters with Romney supporters. I hope the Massachusetts GOP leadership gets to do a little prison time for interferring with a Presidential election through forcing people to sign these phony affidavits. I hope Lawyers for Ron Paul has put the Massachusetts Leadership right at the top of their list to sue.

I, Like many others I know will write in Ron Paul’s name if necessary. I don’t like Obama because he did little of what he promised to do, but Rominey is definitely out. So if I have to live with Obama, so be it. Rominey? NOT.

Ron Paul faces long odds? More like, he is facing the Adelsonians and their billions of Dollahs that are being thrown into Rominey’s campaign.

The reason for the “Heightened Tensions” is because the GOP has so badly cheated Dr. Paul to this point, everyone is expecting more of the same.

HEY, MSM… How about reporting on the fact that Ron Paul supporters winning delegate spots over the Romney slate, including the former GOP nominee for Gov in MA, the former Lieutenant Governor, and the House Minority Leader, in State where Romney was once Governor. This should have been headline news.

It’s pretty darn amazing the Maddow and Ben Swan are about the only two people in the mainstream media who have reported on this issue.

Then, along the same story line, how abou the fact that the MA state GOP dumped the duly elected Ron Paul delegates by making them sign affidavits that they would support their candidate a few months later rather than holding them to the party rules?

How do you justify having someone sign an affidvit to support something in the future? What if Romney fell ill and had to drop out. Then you have all the delegates at the convention forced to vote for a candidate that’s not there? Run this nonsense past any lawyer (other than one working for the Romney campaign) and see what they have to say.

The days of MSM investigated journalism are over… it’s all about maintaining the party line now.

If your Congressman has not co-sponsored Paul’s “Audit the Fed” bill, call and demand it. And push your senators for the same.

A creative 'legalese' way to have gotten around the MA affidavit nonsense would have been to write an asterisk next to the key line about "I will support Mitt Romney" and below it or at the bottom just repeat the asterisk and add, "for the purposes of this document, 'I will support Romney' is defined as 'I will support Ron Paul' at the convention." THEN sign it. The one line amendment is absurd, but it would be sauce for the goose of an absurd loyalty oath, and dilute any force it had to later accuse the delegate of lying.

The fact that they are actually acknowledging that he has a chance at all is a very good sign. We already know that the odds are long, but for them to admit that it isn't over yet is encouraging especially considering how much they want it to be over.

I hope all here are aware Yahoo and ABC News have a media/news Agreement. That said, ABC aka Capital Cities, has always "BLACKED-OUT" or sabotage Ron Paul presidental runs... 2007-08 & 20011-12. The chief Political Scumbag Directing the rigged shows from Manhattan/DC is: AMY WALTER. She's responsible for keeping any possibility of true honest Corporate Media reporting in politics at ABC. Before ABC, Walter did much work for libtard media @ HOTWIRE, WaPo, and the rest of Commie Communications.
