The Romney family doesn’t do anything on a small scale, including vacation.
When Mitt Romney traveled to his lakefront compound outside the tiny town of Wolfeboro, N.H., for the Fourth of July holiday, he brought 30 members of the Romney clan, a phalanx of Secret Service and a mob of reporters in tow.
The week-long getaway is a chance for Romney to take a break from the campaign trail and unwind with his children and grandchildren.
President Barack Obama, on the other hand, recently decided to forgo his annual summer jaunt to Martha's Vineyard in favor of ramping up campaign efforts as the election nears.
The White House told Massachusetts state police that the commander-in-chief would not be returning to the island, the Boston Globe reports, after years of being slammed by his Republican rivals for taking time to vacation in the luxurious town in the midst of the economic downturn.
