Of that list, I voted for Jeffrey Tucker.

However, need I remind anyone of this?

Maybe that host from Fear Factor could be on the list.

I guess you can't really call George Carlin an intellectual................

Hi Murray!

I like George Carlin =p..

Funny guy. He made a lot of sense and had rational, no bullshit thoughts and expressed them well.

He actually got me thinking of atheism and how the government tries to screw us.

I'm not an athiest but I thought George Carlin made a lot of good points.

Nick Gillespie.

He's pretty hilarious and quick with words and doesn't try to sell his humor - definitely not the slap you on the back and laugh out loud type.

Also, Peter Schiff can have some pretty funny reactions when he is encountered by stupidity.

If I'm looking for political comedy, I'm turning to Doug Stanhope (I consider George Carlin and Bill Hicks to have been civil libertarians).

Matt Stone and Trey Parker. I don't see how this is debatable.

Penn Jillette.

For me, so far as I've had exposure, I'd have to say... Joe Rogan. I wouldn't consider Bill Hicks or George Carlin libertarians; I personally think they would object to such a label.

Penn Jillette.

HM to Paker and Stone.

I have to agree with this.

HL Mencken. Hilariously brilliant commentary with a large dose of originality. The rest are not funny. Poignant..idiotic (Molyneux) or I don't know and don't care to know who the rest are.

I picked Murray, but Mencken and a number of others are funny. (for those who didn't pick Murray, check out "Mozart Was A Red"-his one act play skewering Rand and the Objectivist cult. Hilarious. :D )

I find it odd that no actual libertarian comedians like Bill Hicks, Joe Rogan or Penn Jillette made the list.

Mark Twain, of course.

I forgot about him. I'm still going to go with Stone and Parker as my top pick, but Twain is definitely right behind. After a very wide gap, Penn Jillette, George Carlin, and Menken 3-5.

Parker/Stone.
And I haven't even seen the TSA episode yet.

Carlin would object to being called a Libertarian... he just called that party more philosophical bullshit. He came across very much as an Anarchist.. but that is a dif thread.

I would say Penn Jilette too.

Doug Stanhope. Of this there is no question. The "Teach a man to fish" routine is priceless.

Yep. He should have made the list, and if he didnt win, it would only be because there were not enough Carlin vids in this thread. He was just reasonably funny in his day, but now some of his clips look quite visionary.

Hahaha that's so funny. Also the fact that the young Jeffrey Tucker plays a role in it is hilarious.

"One of the more pretentious political self-descriptions is "Libertarian." People think it puts them above the fray. It sounds fashionable, and to the uninitiated, faintly dangerous. Actually, it's just one more bullshit political philosophy." -George Carlin
