View Full Version : If Obamacare is now a tax, it is invalid because it originated in the Senate

Last I checked, Article I, Section 7, clause 1 of our Constitution states that all bills relating to revenue, specifically tax bills, must originate in the House of Representatives.

Obamacare originated in the Senate. Thus, now that it is a tax, is it still legal? Hmmmmmm.....

Wait, so the Senate can take any bill from the House, strip it clean and replace the entire contents with something else, then pass it anyway even though it's supposed to originate in the House?

That seems like a load of crap but then again when have any of our lawmakers given a crap about the Constitution they all swore an oath to uphold and protect...

Yes. That's what happened with the bank bailout as well after it got rejected by the house the first time.
