Sending a couple books overseas...

My boss is spending some time overseas for a little while, and I am wanting to send him a couple books to help him pass the time.

I want to send him Bastiat's The Law, but there are so many versions and translations out there! Which would you recommend? A link to purchase a paperback copy of that particular edition would be appreciated.

I am also wanting to send him a copy of Economics in One Lesson.

He is mostly apolitical, not much of a reader, and speaks Spanish as his first language, so I hope to be able to send him short, easily digested books.

It shouldn't matter much which translation you pick. I deal with Russian translations rather than French, but I can tell you that usually the differences between versions are quite insignificant-pagination, slightly different wordings, and such. When I took Soviet lit, the teacher allowed us to use versions other than the one on the syllabus. The only time this becomes a big deal is when you are wriitng an essay or something which requires citiations of specific pages.

I have many other book suggestions if you want to keep him entertained. Whenever I buy books for people I try to mix it up between the serious subjects, and pleasure reading.

I ended up ordering both books from Amazon. Haven't received them yet, but I will look through them and see how they look before I send them off.
