Congressman Ron Paul's organization, Campaign For Liberty, has sent an email message to supporters in Louisiana asking them to petition New Orleans Congressman Cedric Richmond to cosponsor Paul's "Audit the Fed" bill, HR 459. The message contains the provocative title, "Is Your Representative Running Cover for the Fed?"
Richmond is the only Democrat in Louisiana's House delegation. All six Republican members from Louisiana have signed on as cosponsors of HR 459. But the issue of transparency for the Federal Reserve has no obvious partisan component. So the reformers at Campaign For Liberty want to know, "Why is [Richmond] refusing to stand for transparency and accountability at our nation's central bank?"
