View Full Version : Forget Money Bombs - we need to swarm the polls!

I participated in and was completely amazed at Nov 5th, and I'm very excited about Dec 16th. The energy being devoted to this effort and the cooperation is absolutely amazing.

But, dollar bills can't vote in the voting booth. Only people can. 80%+ of us understand that people are important (see poll here (http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=35160)), so I'm hopeful this message will stir up interest in a small project.

I'd like to put together a website like Dec 16th to register people across the nation who will vote for Ron Paul. Theoretically, the subscribership should be much larger because there's no money being pledged.

This is absolutely important because we need to see where we are to devote resources to those areas needing it most. I'd like someone to sign up anonymously and select his/her state. We can all then see where we are measured against where we need to be. We can easily calculate a goal for each state. For example:

In my county, 25% of registered voters are Republican. In 2004, only 20% of all voters voted in a primary. Assuming even distribution, that means

25% * 20% = 5%

of all registered voters voted in a Republican primary. Even if my county were 50% Republican, we'd only 10% of all voters voting in the Republican primary. This means a Republican primary will be very easy to sway if we can motivate just a minority of people to vote for Ron Paul. In the case of my county, getting just 5% out of the remaining 95% would guarantee a win for Ron Paul. Heck, Ron Paul would probably win my county with just 2-3%.

I know it is possible to get voters in all parties energized for Ron Paul because 1) I never voted in a primary before and plan to do so now and 2) I recently sent in my voter registration to switch Republican from Democrat just to vote for Ron Paul. Everyone I know who hears his message gets motivated.

I've never set up a website and need your help! Who can help me?

Brian,
I agree with you, swarming the primary polls is most important. Money bombs may bring attention to Doctor Paul, but full participation voting by us in the primary is gonna thrust Ron Paul to the forefront. Egg on the face of many doubters soon.
Call your local Board of Elections, confirm you are registered Republican, vote Ron Paul!

To be more specific, I need help with graphics and web design. Any takers?

I'd like to see: a map of the U.S. with each state color-coded based on relation to the goal. It should have a very simple subscription mechanism. And, it should allow anyone to forward a message to one or more friends to get them to join.

Sound simple enough?

The site would never send out emails except one for sign up and one to remind subscribers about primary voting day.

Once Ron Paul wins the nomination (knock on wood), we can keep the site going for his presidential run.

Awesome idea.

Please allow non-voters to subscribe also, not including them in the totals, of course, but just for stats. That includes people who are not of legal voting age, illegal immigrants, foreigners (what country are they from?), people who won't vote for any reason, etc.

Bump for someone who realizes all the money in the world won't make a lick of difference unless people are registered as Republicans and vote in the primary. I too have never voted in a primary but in August I started a website dedicated to getting people registered as Republicans so Ron Paul isn't Howard Deaned in 2008.

Talk to the person from GOPrising, you have similar interests. Here is a beta of his site: http://goprising.com/ft/campaigns/newGOP/ . Here is his thread: http://www.ronpaulforums.com/showthread.php?t=34427 . I can help with the data and keeping it up to date as the primary dates change and what not if you'd like since I already do that with my website: http://www.primarilypaul.com/register/

The most important point of my post (setting and showing progress to a particular state goal) is missing from that site. I've corresponded with Jeff, but I'm not sure how close or far away we are from this. I assume he needs our help to get that going. Can you help?

We need to swarm the polls, but we also need name recognition and media attention to get joe blow thinking Paul can really win (nobody likes voting for a potential loser). It's a catch 22.

money = mainstream media attention
mainstream media attention = new supporters
new supporters = more money for Dr. Paul
More money for Dr. Paul = more msm attention
and the cycle continues.
And, as we all know - Dr. Paul supporters WILL go to the voting booths.
