Sheldon Adelson is giving $10 million to Mitt Romney super PAC

Casino mogul Sheldon Adelson, who helped prop up House speaker Newt Gingrich’s presidential primary campaign for months, is now using his massive wealth to help former Massachusetts governor Mitt Romney.

According to two sources familiar with the donation, Adelson is giving $10 million to the pro-Romney super PAC Restore Our Future. Under Federal Election Commission law, Restore Our Future is free to accept donations of unlimited amounts from single donors but must reveal the identity of those givers.

It’s the biggest single donation ever made to the group.

Restore Our Future, which is run by a handful of former Romney aides and confidantes, raised and spent more than $41 million during the Republican presidential primary season — money spent largely on negative television ads that went after the likes of former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and former Pennsylvania senator Rick Santorum.

During the primary, Adelson and his family gave more than $20 million to a super PAC supporting Gingrich. But even then, sources close to the billionaire said he was comfortable with Romney as the eventual nominee.

im a little surprised how ignorant the comments on huffpo are regarding this adelson story. almost all are convinced its because adelson is some kind of tea party supporter and wants to buy the election. oh the naivety is pathetic. rather than state the obvious-i chose to help out by simply mentioning adelsons dual citizenship...hopefully they arent too dumb to connect the dots.

Sheldon Adelson Willing to Spend $100 Million to Beat Obama
Billionaire casino owner ups political donations to $36 million with big gift to Romney's Super PAC.

Billionaire casino magnate Sheldon Adelson just donated $10 million to Mitt Romney's Super PAC, and told Forbes he is willing to spend $100 million or more to ensure President Obama is not re-elected.

Spoke too soon. It looks like he is donating more than $10 million. No doubt he will get much more than his money's worth when the bombs start dropping on Iran.

Perhaps Sheldon should pay for the bunker-buster program too, plus all the downstream costs like the overhead costs of delivering the bombs, and all of the eventual liability, lawsuit, rebuilding and humanitarian costs that would eventually come out of it.

Of course he may be broke by the time he is done, and his younger Israeli wife would probably leave him.

At a total cost of about $314 million, the military has developed and ordered 20 of the GPS-guided bombs, called Massive Ordnance Penetrators.

The Pentagon won congressional approval last month to shift $81.6 million in funds to improve the bunker-buster bomb.

Kinda funny.....they wait until they (think they) see the winner to jump on the train. I'd give them -rep for it if they were on this board.

Sticking with principles is not an issue if you can just buy what you want from the politician. ;)

If I had $10 million to throw away I'd build a bunker somewhere in Canada.

Hyman Roth is a lot older, so he's giving away more. Kind of like executing part of your will a little early.
