Very, very impressive!!! :D :D

How many do these groups rally to MeetUp events on average?

I'd be interested to see the amount of active participation.

Austin meetup is having a big Ron Paul march tomorrow followed by a picnic if any of you are going to be in the area.

I've been watching them grow for a while now, in total disbelief. Austin is not that big, 750k in the city, 1.5M in the greater area (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin%2C_Texas). New York has 10-15 times the population, and is second place (still respectable, though - props to ya'll, too).

I don't think any other meetup can compare to Austin in terms of population adoption percentage. They have 0.1% of the whole town. :)

It's madness!

What I don't get is the 7000+ people on meetup who have shown interest in joining a group and are waiting for a group to be formed. The largest concentration being 32 people in Miami Beach, Florida.

What are those folks waiting for? With a little bit of inspiring and prodding, we should be able to add a few thousand more members overnight.

I'm not much of an expert at navigation meetup.com, though - not sure how to go about it.

They are waiting for a leader and someone to shell out the cash to start a group.

It can't be that expensive - someone told me $45? We can make that happen, if someone steps up. I'll pay for the Miami Beach group right now. For 32 people it's easily worth it.

Just ask them - you wanna help Paul win, or not? :)
